I love it. I was going to run again today after work but a plug came loose and I didn't have any tools. However, it crawled 3 text books at school today. (i am a teacher). Haha.

[QUOTE=avanord;5706239]I am on a mission. I have been trying to tackle one or two things a night in order to get this build done.

A couple nights ago t was door jams.

Last night was installing my new tires. 4.19 KLRs. They feel like they are going to be real performers.

Some for the street.

Nice build!!!! Where did you get the 4.19 A/T KLRs? Ive been looking all over the place for those.

Thank you.

I am a Team Ottsix Racing team driver and was one of the first to pre order. Last I knew rcaddict.us had some in stock, but they may be gone by now.

Went to the Memorial Day Scale Extravaganza and ran this tuck in c1. Unfortunately I was unable to get a winch in it and truly suffered in the score department as a result. This guy hangs up literally everywhere.

I also discovered that the belt drive is not going to be an efficient system. In three courses I toasted 4 belts. This led to two unfinished courses and a last place finish. I guess I can only do better from there.

I have an idea to solve the problem more info to come when parts arrive.

Thanks man. I have no plan on giving up. In fact it works great. Just need to take care of the belt problems.

I have a chain drive system figured out and just need to purchase the parts.

Back in the old days (1990's) in the 1:1 rock crawling community, we would install heavy duty caster wheels on the bumpers to roll over rocks rather than drag. It was kinda silly and went out of style quickly, but maybe something like that would work.

Thanks for the idea, but with some practice and a winch I should be good to go.

Yeah yeah yeah. Haha. I really wanted the belt drive to be successful and I still feel that it could be if I had the tooling to make all the parts and pieces for a better tensioner. However I feel that the chain will dramatically increase the reliability. You never know until you try.

I wish you the best of luck with the chain drive! Especially since it went through four belts at the comp.

Thanks man. The chain will be a lot more durable. The belt has to be so tight that it is literally pulling the internal Kevlar supports through the rubber belt.

Well... I got the chain drive parts, but of course there was absolutely no way I could just bolt them on and go. So happy to be getting rid of this mess.

First problem the pulley has to run close to the swing arm to clear the frame. This is backward from how I have been running the belt drive.

I also need to replace the entire rear wheel and rethink how it works. The outputs are WAY to small for the new pinions.

So I tore everything apart my figured I would start with the new rear wheel. It would be a lot easier process if I had he correct tools, but I don't. So off to the drill press I went.

In case you didn't know wholesales hate Delrin with a passion. After about an hour and a half I had the center section of my wheel.

Next was the fun job of figuring out how to drive the wheel. I decided on a pin drive and will hope it holds up. It should be ok it is a pretty tight fit.

I made this axle shaft from brass too because I had it laying around.

I also knocked out some spacers to match the internal size of the bearing I already had installed in my swing arm.

I still have to determine how wide to make the axle, how to keep it from shifting side to side, and get everything mounted up. But, this was some pretty good progress for tonight. You get the idea.

Oh yeah. Almost forgot to put this here, but I was featured on Scale Wars. Here is a link to the episode. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

Congrats on the Scale Wars spot! Looked like Josh was really digging the rig. Was kinda weird/cool to see it pop up on there since I've been following this thread for some time now. Good luck!

Thanks man. He sounded like he was pretty into it. It was nice to hear someone talk about something I built favorably. The problem is when you build it all you see is the flaws. Haha.

Tis very true. I built a wooden sword and covered the blade in aluminum tape. I thought the seams were super noticeable and when I showed it to my mom she couldn't find even one! Lol

What was the issue with the holesaw btw? Also how big are the links on the chain you bought and is there a specific way of measuring? (Awg for example or somthing?)

The problem with the hole saw is heat transfer. The Delrin would get too hot and stick the hole saw causing it to take forever.

I am not sure on the exact size of tinge chain. It is off of the Kyosho FOXX. The pinions are 11t from the Kyosho as well.

I've cut delrin with a hole saw, you need to slow it way down and cut with very light pressure. My drill press is too fast on the slowest speed so I drilled the pilot hole then used a cordless drill.

BTW, the 3 wheeler looks great!
