I've got a bit more done on the interior. The tranny is now completley covered, still needs som eshaping etc. I haven't made a cover for the battery yet though.

I made some small sections to fill in th rear of the guards and shapped them a little to blend in with the liens of the body. It's a little ahrd to see with it all being white.

And becasue the interior is so tight, i couldn't fit the axial seats i had here, and couldn't find any to fit. So I made a set. Only have the basic shape at the moment, and only just fit too. I thought i had pics of the process, but apparantly not...

Hopefully soon i can get some primer on the whole thing, wet sand and paint

Cool didnt know this thread was rolling. Good to see the ole Tundy from down Undy....

Love the new shocks, you can always use limiting straps to get the height adjusted to your happy spot.

The body seems to be sitting high....throwing off the body matching up with the stinger. If you have to, cut the little segment out above the shock...i almost did it it several times. It will still look right and the body lines will flow much better with the front bumper. my .02 but she is your build.

I love the addition to the wheels wells. good work. hope to see her moving someday! glad to see it lives. keep up the great work.

Thanks DesertRC, yep she's been a work in progress for a while now. I'm itching to get it going. The body has to come down about 3 or 4mm or so. its just a matter of redrilling some now holes in the alloy mounts that mount the whole lot to the chassis. I changed the mounting idea about halfway through, which is why it's sitting a little high.

I haven't adjsut the shcok at all yet, the preload is jsut how they came out of the packet. I did think about making some limiting straps. Might see how it goes when it's all done and dusted.

Tundy from down undy... i like it it.

Thanks for the comments

It's been along tome between updates. But finally i have progressed it a little more. Over the chrissy break i got a NOS bottle mounted and a steering wheel mounted.

Apart from that there has been a fair amount of time spent, filling and sanding the body to get it ready to start laying paint down. I decided to paint it in Tropicana Green, just debating now whether i go a black cage / chassis or white? any thoughts?

I got the first two coats of primer on it yesterday (it's different seeing it all in one colour )

There were a few bits that had to be filled again and somehow the paint had cracked (not sure if this is the right term) on the grill, jsut that place that is a pain in the ass to sand back.

So i spent about 4 hours today sanding and filling the body and the seats. Here's a few progress pics to prove that it still exists

Need to grab another can of primer, but fingers crossed i can get the top coats on next weeked

Nice looking build but if this whether continues that primer can will incinerate before you think about coating it.

Pajey, i think you're onto somehting. Paint it in 2 pack perhaps and bake it in the sun over an afternoon

Thansk guys, yeah the interior is a biiiiig squeeze, still will have to do shifters etc, and a cover for the battery. But i jsut need to get it running and painted, then i can do the finer additions a little later on.

Also thinknig i'll ditch the winch, the 3 racing won;t hold up with the weight of this thing anyway. So i'll probably just go with lights everywhere

Finally have a couple of updates. the body is painted! Turned out alright. Not perfect but not too bad. Sstill deciding whether i polish it or not.
Also got some proline swampers, so the rok lox have been relegated to the wraith.

I have also started painting the interior, but ran out of paint.

Still trying to decide on a colour for the cage. I'm thinknig either orange, charcoal, or a bright silver. whats everyone thoughts?

Real nice styrene work! I'm dreading what to do when I get to that stage with my Tundra... right now just getting the length of my links down is taking four-EVAH! (how my 14yr old daughter would say it)

I'm subbed on this!

Cheers,
Doc

x4 with charcoal tubework and maybe some matching graphics/decals on the body. Always nice to see this rig.

Thanks guys, by unanimous vote it appears that it'll be charcoal.

Pricey, yep Robby Gordons would look killer. The only problem will be convincing the missus... But i'll work on that.

Joe$, the colour is called Tropicana Green (pretty sure it's a Holden colour, might be called somethnig different in the US), it's an automotive acrylic.

Bulldog, yeah i was thinking about doing some tribal graphics over it, would look pretty sweet. It'll also give me a good excuse to get out the airbrush If i don;t do graphics it'll definitely get stickered up comp truck style, but not too overboard.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, i really want to get it together painted and running. Then i can do the fiddly things like the lighting winch controls, a seperate cover for the battery which will also double as the rest of the transmissino tunnel (will halso have various shift levers etc).

All in time

Thanks for the compliment! one reccomendation i do have is, try not to make the interior part of the body (all glued together). it's a total Pain in the ass to paint. But on the upside it's strengthened the body alot.

Hmmm graphics....I would. Not wan to cloudy up that clean paint. My opinion a few well placed suposed stickers maybe but "graphics" I dunno. I just live that clean simple look. Btw I dig the color too.

I takes a special breed to be into graphics....like southern buggies....oh I'm getting myself into trouble here.

I love ya bulldog.
