Got her all ready for the g6, and what happens? A gear in the tranny decides it doesn't want to play, haha. Knew this was coming Still bringing it, just won't be running it -Derek |

Pulled the tranny back out of the bouncer to see what broke. Not as bad as I was expecting. No stripped gears, just split the first gear (smallest gear too) in one spot, but it was enough to just have the hex on the shaft just spin inside. -Derek |

Before I ran out of brazing wire, I got nuts for one panel brazed in. I made that panel tonight out of some 0.019 aluminum. -Derek |

Hardened steel gears for the bouncer's tranny came in. Got them installed, then made another panel, the center console. Since I can't braze nuts in right now, I just zip tied it down. Hides a lot! Went and played in the back yard, and on a small rock pile under my deck. Tranny held up, just had the slipper came loose after about 10-15 minutes. Motor temp was only 97° may not need a fan on it after all. True test will be the comp in a week and a half. ... |

Ran around the back yard, and the tiny rock pile I have back there for about 20 minutes, motor temp was 116° and esc was about 100°. After full throttle, the drag brake, if I let off quickly, it flips forward, haha. I also think I want to run a sway bar on this rig, and run a softer rear spring. running around the lawn, I can watch the rear end just bouncing around. |

Really nice work! I can't seem to figure out how to do the interior on mine, but you gave me a few ideas Did you count the amount of tube which went in it? I would say about 15 to 20 feet from the look of it |

I'm not sure exactly how much I've used, but this is the second tube chassis I've done, and because I redid the front section of the last one, I had to pick up a second 25' roll of brake line. And I'm just a couple feet into my 3rd 25' roll. by the time I get the "engine cover" and the rest of the small connections done, I'll probably be around or possibly over 30' of tube. And thanks Norm, yeah, now just a bunch of details, but those can get finished in between the comps I run it in. -Derek |

Ziptied my GoPro Hero1 to the back of the bouncer. After the second vid, my slipper started slipping again, about to tear her down again to see what exactly is going on.

Haha! Had the slipper adjusted so tight, I collapsed the bearing for it. -Derek |

Please make this transmission hold up. I would love to steal your idea once all the hard work is done. |

I'm thinking a bushing might be the way to go, instead of the bearing on the slipper, I had it super tight so it wouldn't slip at all. No one that I know of does a slipper eliminator for the 1/16 tranny.

Just drill through the plates and spur and put bolts through. Getto but it will work.

I've thought about that, but everything is so small. The pad keys into the spur, then the plate is super thin. Cranking down on the spring was doing the trick, until the bearing gave way, haha. I just found and ordered some 4x8x3 bronze bushings (size of the bearing) for a Thunder Tiger helicopter of all things. Gonna call around for the bearing tomorrow to see if someone locally has one in stock, and hope the bushing gets here by Saturday, so I can install it for the comp on Sunday

If it's not too big of a pain in the dick to swap out I can see about bringing one on Sunday. I've built plenty of rigs in the parking lot.

Thanks for that offer, we'll see what I can find tomorrow, I'm confident someone local will have one in stock, but you never know. Getting the tranny out isn't hard, it's getting everything hooked back up and plugged back in that can take a bit. Front shocks come off to get the winch out to rock the motor/tranny out. But I do have however long it'll take to run 2.2 pro as well, haha Last edited by SuperDrty; 05-28-2015 at 10:15 PM. |

The only thing that broke on the bouncer last weekend, finally got to swapping it out. It was one of the rear upper link rod ends. As you can see, it was shaved down (by me) and thats where it failed. And it was after the comp, goofing off on the rocks. -Derek |
