Thanks for all the continued compliments and interest, I am always amazed at the amount of comments! I can try and thank you with a vid of this thing going sorry about the low quality, I might be able to get some better driving in once its fixed up again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3chD2SwaBZ0 My mate filmed my Fj up at his dads place, not the best quality but you get the idea. I was suprised with how well it got through mud and clay, and with the strength of the new 3rd member rc4wd sent me (the rear axle used the original design so I ended up stripping the gears yet again:-() Quote:

Not sure what size they are, but I found them at the local hardware store, smallest ones they had. Zinc coated I think. Also try marine/boating supply stores, they had some very good ones - they were just a bit expensive Last edited by Fracture; 01-04-2009 at 06:15 PM.

First time painting on the toyota, its a brush job but It came up pretty good after sanding cutting and polishing. Dad painted a lot of the large areas though..

Awesome build man. Very cool. And as for those snow treads, it isnt a disgrace to scale, check this out. My buddy does conversion kits for snow treads and mostly does toyotas. I dont have any pics of the Toyotas hes done unfortunately. This is a Land Rover but you get the idea :P Definitely my favorite FJ scale build. Yea, Fracture had in my mind built the coolest most scale FJ ever. I do plan to build one just like it from brass and copper in memory of him and all that he had done for the scale RC community! Thanks Fracture and I hope we see you again!!!!!!

If their is anyone that inspires me it's this guy. I fall off my chair everytime I look into what has been done! The body work is secound to none. If only his drivetrain would fallow suit. I have played with such and in order to do so you have to go into a larger scale. But the bottem line is you get the feel and look that I'm shure fracture after. That and I'm shure, fracture would come up with more and over the top engines. As well as drivetrains. |
