Fracture, your build has captivated us now for weeks and is truly a masterful example of what can be accomplished with scale modeling. These last photos are well staged, very inspiring and look fabulous. You have established yourself as leader in the scale building community and I'm sure will have a place on the main page .....Congratulations

Wow, that is the most awesome scaler that I have seen. I have no idea how I missed this build and it makes my build look pale. It seriously deserves to be on the front page! Great work and I can't wait to see what else you have in store for it.

Thanks TxCruzr and Knytemare, much appreciated Couple of updates; mounted spare tire, added rear lights&surrounds and added aluminium to the top of the runningboards. The lights are in a pretty exposed place, theyve already taken a beating What else should I add to this rig? Im gonna do windows soon, and wipers will probably come with that. I would have done side mirros, but I know they will just get ripped off- this thing weighs heaps and rolls a helluva lot Maybe a unimposing tube bumper? Im definately not gonna do an exo or anything. It just wouldnt suit the rig. My batteries are ordered so I can stick them under the seat when they get here, will do a lot for the scale appearance The antennae is also an issue, I get crap loads of glitching If I dont have it well extended. I think I might get a flexy spring steel boat antennae. A note on the rc4wd gear reduction, It has a bit of slop in the output and only runs on a bushing. A pinnion meshing onto a spur can put quite a bit of side force on it so I drileld out the bushing, ground down the output shaft and added a motor bearing. This has made it far smoother and less likely to bind - I can now push the truck where before it would just lock up unless you really shoved it hard. I might mention this to rc4wd Other than that the reduction is great, strong enough to strip grub screws in my axles:-( Any suggestions for stuff to add are welcome, the rig is quite plain atm. frac -edit- roofrack maybe? Well anyone can make one... just takes lots of time and planning and a workshop Look out for updates soon, Im in the process of upgrading it to 14.4v, brushless, sliders and a t case with planetery reduction Its probably going to break the axles alot when its done |

In the mean time, you could put some kind of a tarp over the battery in the bed. ... 'cause we don't want to wait for the video too long. |

Oh its all in pieces at the moment so no video for anyone, but it should be back together soon. Ive managed to fit 2 stick packs and a transfer case under the floor, this lets me use a full double bench seat ...without a big spur gear sticking through it Im really looking forward to the brushless setup Also got some decent servos, so the winch can now lift the truck. I got some little details from Stefan as well, they sure help the looks. No pics sorry, I wanna wait till its looking all nice and rebuilt Last edited by Fracture; 02-22-2008 at 02:52 AM. |

Do you still have plans to throw some weathered T-rex axles under there? This is by far my favorite build going on right now keep up the good work.
