Ok, so I ordered the right HR dig unit... Thanks for helping me choose the right one. When you guys say you have to "flip the transmission, do mean in the same way as described in the "must do mods" section where guys describe ways of getting rid of torque twist. Taking the trans apart and rebuilding it backwards and having the motor on the other side of the truck. How does flipping the trans make the dig work or not? Maybe I'm missing something... Guess I'll see when the unit arrives with it's "detailed instructions" lol Last edited by madkawi650; 10-29-2010 at 04:34 AM. |

If this HR unit came with instructions it would be very helpfull.. However. I can not use my HR cover ring. the mounting screws are too close to the casing and wont go in. I said the heck with it and threw it in the tool box and continued. Fuddled my way through it till It was working. I played around with the my DX3.0 and set the 2P 3rd channel to give me 4wd and 2wd with rear lock. Im impressed for the price, but it has trouble locking the rear.. It disengages perfectly every time, but take some rolling back and forth to get the rear to lock most time. If I add more travel buy adjusting EPA's It helps but them even after engagement, the servo sits there and hums. I have to adjust back a bit to make it relax. Maybe more spring on the push rod instead of the 1/4" piece of fuel tube I'm using. How is everyone elses HR Dig working ? |

Mine worked great. I tore it apart every couple of months or so to check the gears, clean everything and put fresh lube on everything. I only have two real complaints about this dig: 1- You have to plan ahead, if you find yourself need a dig immediately and it isn't already engaged you're screwed. 2- Sometimes it gets bound up when you have a lot of stress on the rear wheels and the only way to get the truck into 4WD is to use reverse. |
