I to love this T1E Moonbuggy shafty Eddie, it's been the best dam shafty I've every owned or driven anywhere and the fact that it allows a good old Gatekeeper set-up makes it something very special.

Mine kept up with the 2.2 open class all last summer, it never missed a trick it climbed and side hilled like a Demon. It had some great finishes much to many MOA owners dismay, and that was the best part.

I'm currently setting it up for the 2012 Sporty class, I'm pretty sure my club (MNRCRC) isn't going to outlaw the Bodiless chassis'.

Thanks E. I'm excited to see it on 4S, but it's a 45 Turn motor in it, so it won't be a total wheel speed freak.

Thank you sir. The drive line system works wonderful. If you are building a no dig shafty, the complete kit works very well. Thank you for your continued business.

That's all very good to read Norm. Keep up the good work running a shafty against MOA's.

The 2.2 S Class on the USRCCA still has a number of things to work out and finalize. In the mean time, I am going to run this truck as is and upgrade it as I can.

I really like how this shafty runs now! All the changes have made noticeable improvements. It's much quicker on 4S and it has so much more torque. It seems to handle slightly better with the SLW set up compared to the previous DH wheel set up which surprised me. I thought it would be less stable with the lighter set up. As pictured, RTR weight is 5 pounds 14 ounces.

Wheels, Tires & Foams

Front:
- VP 1" SLW
- C.I. 1/4 wheel wideners (placed on outside of the wheel to gain track width)
- 1.25" total wheel width
- 725 Hubs
- C.I. Proto inner foams
- C.I 5.5 Soft Outer
- no weight added to wheel
- C.I. Hybrid Cut N Shut Tires; White Dot Sedona inside w/ Pink Dot Block outside

Rear:
- VP 1" SLW
- C.I. 1/4 wheel wideners (placed on outside of the wheel to gain track width)
- 1.25" total wheel width
- 725 Hubs
- C.I. Proto inner foams
- C.I. 5.5 Double Deuce Medium Outer
- no weight added to wheel
- White Dot Sedona inside w/ Red Dot Block outside

I taped 1.75 ounces to each rear lock out.

I have hybrid tires on every competition truck I own if that tells you anything. I also prefer sedonas over rovers for hybrids. I'm way behind in terms of posting tires I have made lately. I have been testing tires and foams and getting the drawings right before we go into production.

It's been a long time since I have posted to this thread but I have been driving and working on this little truck. We did not have enough 2.2S Class comps to qualify our local club for Texas State Finals. To make it worse, the USRCCA in their dysfunction thought it was best to Ban Bodiless mid-season and outlaw trucks like this. I completely disagree with this ruling and it's timing so I have not changed my truck and don't plan to at this point. I realize I can't compete in the 2.2S class, but sometimes you just have to take a stand on principles. It wasn't fair to the participants to en-act a rule mid season. Competitors had already spent months competing and learning their trucks, only to have a sanctioning body tell you must change mid season for no sound reasoning or logic. Anyways...

I drove the truck all season with the hybrid tires. Sedonas w/ red Blocks. Very nice tire for our terrain. Every comp this truck was in, it won. I have made some changes and I will get some pictures posted.

I ran this truck last Saturday at the ARCC comp in Little Rock Arkansas. I got 3rd in 2.2 S, 2 points behind First. Here is a link to the videos ROLANDROCKSHOP made of the comp.

I'm glad I got one of the bodiless rigs from T1E. We don't comp around here, but I like having the best performing chassis to start out a good basher 2.2 comp rig. I still don't understand why they are limiting it to bodied rigs only. Are they going to tell us that we can only run Hardline bodies next? Dumb.

With the National Championship approaching, this truck was due for some much needed attention and updates. First and foremost was making it USRCCA legal. I had a painted up lexan body sitting around the shop that I made use of for this build.

I decided it was easier to just cut the rockshow cab off so that I could the base of it to strengthen the chassis. The entire chassis is delrin and Rockshow Mike had cut me a set of thinner sideplates & cab last year to reduce to weight. That thinner material is more flexible so incorporating the cab rails into chassis helps to strengthen it overall.

So the new tires mean you're no longer Mr Hybrid?

"I have hybrid tires on every competition truck I own"
"I drove the truck all season with the hybrid tires."

I'll bet you did a "drive-off". Care to share?

I ran the 2.2 Meat Grinders at Glen Rose Park where the Texas State Finals were held back in June. They worked really well at that location. I then brought the 2.2 Meat Grinders to the National Championship in September at Cherokee Rock Village and they did not perform well there. I ended up competing with a hybrid set of 2.2 Meat Grinder & Plowboy Hybrids. I am still using and testing hybrid tires.

SOLD to BigJeff1313

After returning home from the National Championship, Big Jeff made me an offer on this truck. After clearing it with my sponsors, Big Jeff is now the new owner. The timing was perfect because the entire truck had been gone through for Nationals. I placed 30th out of 42 drivers in the 2.2S Class at the National Championship. I made three mental mistakes in particular that cost me that day. The truck performed outstanding all day and it is the best performing comp shafty I have built to date. I already have another competition shafty in the works and it will use the same style T1E Shafty chassis but with AR60 axles this time. I will put up a build thread for it in the Ridgecrest section later. Thank you to everyone that followed this build thread and contributed
