Hey thanks guys. Michelle at krawler konceptz did a great job. I have my xr skinz installed already. I have the mini juice ones sitting here in a envelope. And the fast back ones were printed today. I will get a pic of a 3 rigs together once I get them all and stop being lazy and install them. As far as professional, I doubt it but hell might as well look good while trying.

I have been away from the AX stuff for a bit but am reviving my Sons FB for sporty. Well, that and the fact that a 7 year old does not need dig on a shafty 2.2 pro rig or stuff is going to be broken. I was looking at your mod to widen things. I have the beef tubes also but I am running Ax cvd's. Noticed the xr chubs and knuckles but what shafts/cvd's are you running to get that wide and still have a shaft inside the center diff? Thanks. |

I am running longer beef toobs made by biggin69 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axles...eyre-back.html They are stock length Xr universals. I mocked it up with stock xr knuckles and chubs, but I ordered vp wraith knuckles and those will be used for the final product. | ||

Well its currently 1:45am for me and I have been tinkering with this for way to long. The long beef toobs are well made, finish wise they are great, fit wise not so great. They fit the stock xr chubs perfectly nice and snug, grabbed a vp chub and not such a nice fit anymore. The vp chub is very sloppy. I would imagine that it could be shimmed. I'm not going to bother with that tho. I am going to use 3 screws to make sure the caster does not change once I set it, so I think they will be fine. Just saying it would have been nice for the vp chub to fit a little tighter. So I decided to switch back to the stock plastic chub for the rest of mock up cause they stay where you put them without needing to have a screw installed. I started with a new axle housing. Then secured the tube to both halves of the axle case with one screw per side front and back. Simply drill and tap a 3mm hole. Then I trimmed about 1/8'' off of the upper mount tabs. Then I put the upper link /battery/bec/rx/servo mount back on, and installed the axle back on the rig. Started messing with a steering tie rod until I gave up because I do not have a long enough link. So I decided to start playing with caster. Where I have it set now is close but I do want a few deg more. I modded the universals similar to what Chris the battery man does. They turn nice and smooth. I have had enough tonight, maybe I will finish it up tomorrow if I get a chance. I only took a few pics tonight. So here is a sneak peak of whats coming. I really doubt that I can make a tie rod and drag link to use all of the steering throw possible, or if I even have a servo horn long enough. I will sure try to get as much of it as I can. The tires are just barely getting into the lowers and the shock springs. A few more * of caster and I should be good to go. I never put a servo up there so who knows it might be jamming a tire into the servo right now. But.... no more chatter... bam steering like crazy... I hope... |
