so many choices!
You really cant go wrong with a tekin. I would choose a decent 35t. Brood makes a very nice motor as well as Holmes. I have ones from both and they have their ups and downs. If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg to get moving i would suggest the sport from holmes. Its priced less than an integy and is a solid performer. Avoid the tekins, novaks, integys and other cheapo motors as they are just not as solid as a nice as a "built" motor. Next time I see ya I will open the Holmes motor to full tilt for ya. We have a nice custom Brood I had built also you can check out.

For sure

and a link to an ass kicking battery

http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/pro...Lipo-Pack.aspx

That motor is gonna give unreal low end control that will be amplified by the lower gearing of the fsj tranny. The only down side is the 4 mag can is lack of drag brake, but with your lower gearing the weaker drag brake will not be an issue. I would run close to the lowest gears you can on the tranny and feed it off 4s lipo.

So in recap you would have unbelievable low speed control, instant spool up, axle breaking torque, and wheel speed to make people wonder WTF?

You do need to recap the tekin for safe 4s use though

I love that recap HLC!!

gonna go with the motor you posted, and not sure if my old duratrax ice intellipeak charget can handel a 4S pack do you?

FXR SPECS: Input Voltage: 4-9 Cells/2-3S Lipo
Motor Limit: 12 turn
On Resistance: 0.0012 ohms
BEC: 6V/3A
Dimensions: 1" x .8" x .4" (25mm x 20mm x 10.2mm)

so is the FXR PRO any much of a difference in performance?

1-10 NiCd or NiMH cells, and 1-4 lithium-ion (Li-Ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-Po) cells for that guy. Not a bad unit either. she gets the job done but is a lil tricky to use.

This motor in a 16t on 4s is a freeking rocket ship also. Only reason I have been using brood motors lately is because eddie is just a nice guy to deal with. He will answer my questions and help get you set up and happy. When I got a personal phone call from him was the day he sold me as a customer.

Honestly for a crawler there is no advantage to use the pro. It has more disadvantages than pros. Higher cost, more weight and larger size. You cant tell a difference between the 2 while driving either, they control identically from all the testing we did on them.

yeah the only difference between the fxr and fxr pro is the pro will run a 10T on 0.0006 ohms, not a plus for crawling indeed.

so i have a huge list made up on RPP,if everything goes to plan i will order the whole list tomorrow

The list:

Castle Creations BEC 10A Switching Regulator
Racers Edge ALUM PRO SERVO HORN SS HITEC BLACK
Tekin FXR ESC FWD/BRK/REV
Futaba 4PL 2.4G FHSS w/R2104GF Rx
Axial HEAVY DUTY BEVEL GEAR SET 43T/13T
Hitec RCD HS-7950TH Mega Torque Ti Gear Digital Dual BB
Vanquish Products Incision XR-10 Axle Motor Plate Black
Vanquish Products XR-10 Incision XR-10 Axle Transmision Case V1 Black
RC4WD XR10 Hardened Steel Replacement Gear set
Rpp Hobby 5x11x4mm Rubber Sealed Bearing (1)
Rpp Hobby 10x15x4mm Rubber Sealed Bearing (1)
FELSENFEST NO SLOP spools
3racing CVDs
new SS hardware
Brood Creep Type HHK-R/T 35 Turn

and thats it til the 36/14 gears are back in stock for the front axle.

Before you are to set on link length you might wanna consider switching out those problematic Axial rod ends. If you are gonna be comping with it I would look into some Traxxas ones Like this for uppers

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rce=google_ext

And for lowers, Revo rod ends are a must have for any comp truck.

This small upgrade will save you so much problem and frustration in the long run

For the upper links, the axial ends are no issue at all. But, the lowers you will be receiving need Revo ends.

Revo rod ends are in the mail already,I have some of the first ones I'll swap them over asap I'm sure there's enough adjustability between the chassis and VP 4 link plates it shouldn't matter that much.

Got bored some more and wrote up this exact list of this build

I ordered up some FELSENFEST spools don't know when they will get here so me thinks those will be the hold up as far as assembly,NO AXLES=NO CRAWL.

Also Its looking like im gonna be goin in a different direction on tires, plan to get the first set of meats custom tuned to my surrounding terrain.

Yeah gonna focus on gettin him built and gettin the FSJ tranny figured out and modified to fit in the PD chassis cleanly, thats gonna be a bit down the road too so i should have the dig figured out and hopefully pictorialed before this things ready for any action.

REEEEAAAALLLLYYY EXCITED tho,Never got the chance to just up and build a high dollar rc before let alone a comp ready rig.

which is gonna be funny for any of you pros that get to see me run as im a total noob to comp class/style crawling, nor do i have any experiance using a dig so just try not to laugh to loud if your watching.
