I was showing my local ultra 4 guys around here what a "real" ultra 4 car can do and I was whooping up on them and their Pro4's. I quickly found out that my car is not built for that kind of beating for long periods of time.

In theory, I dont know why the shock balls didnt work but none the less, I went with the more standard way to mount the front shocks like everybody else is doing. Worst case, if I have the same problem, I can run a washer on the top of the rod ball and can fix it when I get off course. Either that or maybe I shouldn't run this car ultra 4 style?

Last thing for today.

This may be super simple but I am loving bent rod ends lately! They seem to solve every simple problem that I have been having and easily.

If you have my front servo mount you dont necessarily have to bend your links. I found some bent rod ends that work perfect. I also have these for sale on my website if you dont want to buy a whole pack and just need a couple.

Bent/offset ends.

I took the bends out of my links (except for the rear ones to clear the driveshaft). Here is full extension

Full compression. They barely hit and not enough to worry about. Perfect!

The bent rod ends are awesome they made it super easy to make a simple drag link on my crawler instead of having to bend an offset in the actual rod itself.

What kind are those if somebody was interested in the whole pack?

I love them too, but I'm tired of buying the $7 axial pack that comes with 2 and bunch of other junk that I just throw away.

Yeah, thats why I was so attracted to your steering setup. Your steering setup is one of the most legit I have ever seen.

I need to find a strong 4mm bent rod end. Are the ones youre using on the tie rod a Axial 3mm drilled out to use with 4mm or are they 4mm from the get go?

If they are and you can figure it out, please let me know.

I had nothing but horrible luck with those Losi ends when I had a LCC. It was not uncommon to break 5 or so a day and they are not dirt cheap either.

Yeah, heard that before.

I would break one every single time there was a 3-4 foot drop.

That's because you don't drive like Erik. If you need something tested for durability, and Erik doesn't break it, the. You won't break it. EVER.

I am not sure that anybody has problems breaking the AR60 housings on a sporty but thought I would post these here too just incase. At the least, they look good.

Say goodbye to broken housings!

If you look at the design of the front truss, you will see that I added a 1/4" thick piece of Delrin right where the axles always break. This improves the strength significantly. The truss also ties into the chubs or the lockouts and we made the truss so its pre loaded a hair and this should add significant strength also.

You have already seen the rear but here it is again on an axle housing only.

That rear truss could be very beneficial for my set up. Any chance to get them without the last 2 holes so I can shorten it for my shortened axle.

Sorry, forgot to answer this.

I would think if you just need one without the last two holes that you could just cut what I have and make it work? Thats probably what I would do for you. Changing the file and making a 1 off would take more time just just cutting.

Do you have any videos of this rig running a course?

Or do you have a Youtube channel?

Would like to see this rig in action, it is really sweet, haven't seen anything like this on here.....
