Thanks, I did hit him up on farsebook. I decided to just grab the black ones listed as wraith since I want the black color. RPP had a 15% off sale for the 4th of July so I nabbed a VP Stage 1 Kit, both DMG Skids and some Scalerfab Sliders. The last RPP order I got yesterday was some 100mm suspension limiting straps from Hot Racing, the Axial rubber shock mount bushings, and the DMG spare tire relocation bracket and his radiator mount. Also purchased the stainless steel spring cups from American Machine Works, they look awesome on the Kings ! Since I have the weekend and all next week off I am hoping to get the interior panel done....just waiting for some PEZ Candy dispensers to show up so I can decapitate them I'll snap a pic or 2 later. |

Decided to make a shelf using .080 styrene to hold the Hobywing 1080 and also have easy access to the power button, I mounted up the optional Transmission servo bracket and made a shelf to sit on it and hold the esc and switch. Now to turn it on all I do is stick a finger behind the passenger body panel and there is the button. Easy Peasy Had some other goodies come in also, DMG f&r diff skids, spare tire relocation bracket and radiator mount, HotRacing 100mm shock limit straps, ScalerFab sliders, Pez candy dispensers that I have decapitated and will use those heads in place of the Axial helmets. anyways....Here are more snaps. |

Your Bomber is coming along really nicely, ScoJac! Especially like the ESC shelf mount, too cool... I'm wondering if I should have ordered the DMG skids myself, can't decide if the added protection is worth dealing with the slightly lowered ground clearance they give. |

I went with the T-Bone Racing skids and it's way too thick. I lost 1/4inch ground clearance and the front hangs on rocks. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Thanks durok, the esc shelf turned out even better than I thought it would. Originally I was just going to have it a flat piece, but then a light bulb illuminated in my head. I'll get a close up profile shot of the skids, but it's just the thickness of that 1 button head screw and the skid. Virtually no loss at all. Edit; The skids are 1.48mm thick and the button on the screw is only 1.54mm I just snapped a couple close ups for you. Last edited by ScoJac; 07-10-2018 at 04:50 PM.

Getting a little break in the heat this week I and hope to get my two new un-run rigs out this coming weekend. The mailman dropped off a few more goodies yesterday, I picked up the Vanquish Stage 1 kit with brass knuckle bushings and 2 sets of BoomRacing' Kronik "beef tubes" in stainless. Everything installed perfectly and looks great. |

Looking good! Wondering if those skid plates would fit the VP axles? |

Thinking about going brushless on this and have decided to go with the Mamba X and a HH Puller Pro, but... can’t decide if I want the 2200kv or the 2700kv ? Leaning on the 2700kv because I can always gear it down if I feel it’s too fast. I will be running on 3s and I am not wanting a ballistic missle, I like a bit of wheel speed but rather prefer the trailing and low speed crawling. Any input is welcome. |

In my experience they were a direct bolt on accessory, but all of my "front turny" parts are also vanquish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a 2150kv 42mm sensored brushless and it's bonkers, I have the mamba monster x esc so can run on 3 - 6s which will allow you to find a sweet spot Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk Last edited by Stray; 08-04-2018 at 11:34 PM. |

The goodies finally came in, picked up a Mamba X, Puller Pro 2700kv, Castle B-Link and a spare GearHead wheel to match the set. The Puller Pro has a crazy sound to it. Spent some time tweaking the settings in the Mamba X, set it up for some really good low speed control. I’ll have to extend the power leads so I can mount it next to the transmission like I did with the HW1080. Right now I have it on top of the receiver box and do not like it there. Where do most of you all mount your esc ? |

I mounted mine on a trimmed-down shift servo mount next to the transmission - see this post for the DIY pics: The "Just shut up and build it" thread... And the final result: |

Things left to do to this rig are, install the brass Vanquish rod end balls, mount the esc, trim and mount the KOH Axial rear light... oh I forgot to mention I purchased a set of stainless steel trailing arms from JEC Racing also. I finally picked up more paint so I can start on the fuel cell, radiator and interior. Using Pez candy dispenser heads instead of the Axial helmets.... I still have the clear kit panels and will be doing a Star Wars theme kinda-sorta similar to powder4breakfast's rig. I'm a bit of a Star Wars Nerd, so far I have over a hundred audiobooks read so far. Last edited by ScoJac; 08-18-2018 at 07:51 PM.
