I had heard of some guys doing that. How do they work with the lugs removed?

Nice truck to

have you seen the axial wraith's driveshaft? I'm almost tempted to buy a pair and test them out on my rig, I heard bad things about that pin with the mip, and im running integy HDs with the same problem! and looks like axial solved that problem, now im curious if the wraiths driveshafts will hold up against the torque!

and great looking rigs you got!

Hadn't even thought about the wraith drive shafts but will have to look into it. I ran the MIP's for over a year on my previous trucks without an issue. Only recently did the pin fall out. I think that was from lack of upkeep on them.

Thanks for the idea

I LIKE IT!!! I'm digging that front bumper and the previous one's you made! I'm currently working on mine, just need to braze it up then I'm done. Doing mods on these things are a lot easier and cheaper than doing them on a 1:1 haha

Thanks guys

I have been on a 6 month hiatus here but i did get the truck out a couple times over winter and spring. Not really sure what im gonna do from here. I am going to pick up some pitt bull tires as i have been reading some great things about them. I also recently switched back to the lox with no wideners. Just seems more scale to me along with not really liking how the claws work.

Anyway heres a couple pics of how the truck is holding up.

Well i picked up a couple new things for the truck.
First on the list was to add a winch.
Wanted one in case i got the chance to hit up a local G6 or scale comp.
I just went ahead and picked up a RC4WD tough armor stubby for the time being.
This way i dont have to rush on the one i made and can make improvements or just make it better. The plan is to get the winch under the hood and add a fairlead to the one i made when i get the time.

In the works is an interior that should be deliverd any day. I havent seen anybody try it in the honcho shell yet but may have missed it. According to the web sight dimensions it should work lol. Will post that up when i start to work on it.

Also added is some Team3six Silver steel winch line ( I won a while back in a giveaway) and king kong hook i had laying around.

Next up was to make a fuel cell for the thing. I had been wanting to
give it a go for a while now and slowly been working on it at night.
I think it turned out pretty good (copied one i found on pirate 4x4).
The straps will be added later on, the ones i cut out didnt do it for me.
Looking for a better material.

Picked up some ballistic fab piggyback shock caps for the dual springs also which u can see below.

Pre paint

And a quick side view shot. I dont have much paint left on the sliders or rear cage. Will probably tear down, clean up, new shell and paint metal at end of summer. Ton more to do but i am taking my time. Just really enjoying driving it.

LOL thanks.

So the original front bumper was on my mind lately and i finally got a chance to start some work on it.

First was to change how it mounted to the chasis.
Second was to try and get the top tubes around the lights to come in a little bit and not stick out so far.
The fairlead hasnt been added yet but i still wanna try and fit it in there.
Got the idea of running the tube into the fender from a build on pirate.
The body still goes on pretty easy.
The lights will also be going back on.

On the agenda next is the xr mod up front for more steering.

Anyways this is how its looking so far.
Thanks for looking.

I still need to clean up the metal work.

Well tis the season for new stuff.

Picked up a few items for the truck to start the new year.

Right now its torn down for some cleaning, repainting, regreasing, etc.

A quick side shot of the chasis and body. I ended up cutting another 1/4inch off the bottom of the body and raising the sliders a bit.

Next up is a new truss for the 4 link (based solely on looks for the change) and some VP titanium lower links.

For the front i picked up some VP front hoops since mine have taken a beating. Also got some of them new shiny king shocks from RC4WD.

New Dinky interior that i hope fits with the trans since i have the body much lower on the chasis then stock.

And last but not least some new tires and wheels. I actually have had the locked up iconics for a while now. They are supposed to go on a hilux build but since that aint getting done anytime soon i figured i might as well use them. The trepadors are just a badass looking tire IMO so i had to get some. I even read they are doing well peformance wise so i cant wait to try them.

THanks for looking and will update as i move along with the work.

Happy new year to all.

Thanks man, yeah the wheels are outstanding. The new treps mounted easily to.

So I am kinda slowly getting this thing back together after a crappy paint job with some type of flat black i had laying around. Good enough for some winter/spring crawling though. The front and rear axles were in pretty good shape considering its been awhile since i broke them down. Still gotta tear apart the trans make sure everything is holding up.

So I have been wanting to get rid of those unsightly body posts in the hood. I decided to get rid of the tool box for now and make that a body mount. The front bumper will now hold the front of the body on and a single body post in the rear of cab to hold the back. Seems to be plenty strong enough but we will see how it holds up. Just gotta fill the holes in the hood now.

And I finished up the Dinky Honcho interior.
Didnt go crazy with detail but did add some scaleness so it wasnt one solid color.
This is going to need some trimming up front (actually alot) cause of how i have the body/fenders cut but should be simple enough. Will post some progress pics when i get to it.

Thanks for looking.

Well she is back to a runner. If the temp would manage to get above 20 degrees at some point here I will be taking her out. To damn cold for me though.

A shot of the electronics lay out with my awful wiring job.

And tried to close up the wheel well area best i could. The interior messed with the setup I had. Its fine for now but could use some attention later on (I dont like to see the wires which u still can right now).

And just some random shots of the truck.

Thanks for looking
