Thanks for the compliments ScaleReady!

I actually tried to paint a red tip on it already, but it just didn't look right due to the way I wound the twine all the way to the top... I am currently in the process of making a "version 2" where the winding stops about an inch below the top which should look even more scale (like the real Firestick antenna), and it will be getting the red tip treatment and maybe some silver at the base too for good measure!

My custom plates arrived from Krawler Konceptz... very nice quality, a fine addition to any scaler.

I have been slackin' a bit lately on updating this thread...

Figured I was past due for tearing into the front axle to beef it up and get some better steering out of it.

Part's used for today's mod's include:

Vanquish Products 8 Degree Knuckles

Vanquish 8 Degree C-hubs

Vanquish Currie Titanium Tie Rod/Drag Link Set

Axial AX30464 Universal's

Axial AX30395 Heavy Duty Bevel Gear Set

3Racing 12mm Brake Adaptor (used as wheel spacer's for additional tire/knuckle clearance)

"Beef Tube's" (custom machined locally, sorry no link)

Various screw hardware, heavy duty grease, threadlock, ect...

Truck is still in pieces getting more work done, but here are a couple pics with the front axle out of the rig

The rear axle is next up fot similar treatment (Beef Tubes, HD Gears, VP Lockouts, ect.)

While I have my rig apart I am going to go ahead and throw in the Holmes Hobbies 35T Torquemaster Pro Hand-wound... I will most likely go down a couple teeth on the pinion while I'm at it... mainly looking for crawling speed and torque, but don't want to go TOO low of a ratio so I can still play along on GTG trail runs or maybe a future G6 event or three... and as John Holmes say's "Volt Up, Gear Down!" I'm already running Thunder Power 2250mah 45c 3s LiPo's (and have been for several hour's of use on the stock Axial motor and ESC)

Could I bug you for a pic from the front of your tie rod and drag link if possible?. I'd like to see the geometry of the links with the VP chubs and knuckles.

Looking great. I'm off to look at your CB antenna thread.

Just posted a "V-2 and V-3" update on the antenna thread for ya'!

It may take me another day or two, but I would be happy to post a steering linkage shot up for you... my rig is currently still in pieces getting reworked (again?)

Aside from front and rear axle upgrades, I am also in the process of installing a custom servo winch and also relocating most electronics into a Radio Shack project box because I can't fit the new 4PL Rx into the stock box along with the BEC and all the other wiring...

I have some minor OCD issues or I would have been done a week ago - lol

Got the rear axle done... I used another custom locally machined pair of "beef tubes" (sorry, no link), a set of Axial AX30402 heavy duty beveled under-drive gear's, Vanquish rear lockouts, a few various screws from Harley, HD grease, threadlocking compound, ect...

How did you get your decals off without ruining them (heat?) and then how do you reapply them? I have been wanting to repaint my dingo for some time, but cannot find replacement decals without buying the body!

I peeled them off and tossed them... the Rubicon RTR included a decal sheet that had many of the most popular decals in multiple colors to be used as replacements. Sorry I could not be more help on that question...
