Hopefully this answers your question.
Well I souldn't have been so impatient, I just hammered the axle shafts in the lockers without clearencing them . Do you have an idea how I could get them out? Or if it's even possible to get them out .

Thanks

Well mostly for the front axle, because the back axle shafts being stuck still allow for all bearings to be changed. But lets say for both axles, because I think, if i'm not mistaken, that you need to remove the axle shafts from the lockers to be able to separate the locker from the ring gear.

For the fronts, use pliers on the back side of the bell, use hammer to lightly tap them out.

The rear, take the locker and shafts all as unit, put the hex pin and hex on back on and samething pliers and hammer to lightly tap them out.

Ok ,
When I get back home I will try it . Just to be shure, do you mean I should grip the axle shaft with pliers and then hammer the pliers whilst they are attached to the axle shafts?
Thanks

I've been able to remove (with a bit of force and two vice-grips ) the axle shafts from my lockers without damaging them . Now, I need to clearence them so they go in and out easily. What kind of sand paper did you use to do on yours?

Thanks

I've actually wheeled with this guy on several runs out in Moab during Easter Jeep Safari in both my old JK 4 dr on 40's and my buddies JK 2dr on 44's. Pretty fun to watch him go over stuff. But he doesn't wheel it hard. mostly a show pony. lol

It been while since I worked on the JK. Still slowly plugging away at it. I found a good deal on Rc4wd bumper... never can leave anything alone. I made it into a stubby. Waiting on my fairleads to come in. Then I will add Lockedup winch savers and hooks.

Pretty cool still! I love to have JK with dynatrac 60 front and 80 rear with portals.

Anyway you could get me in-touch with the guy ?

Back to work getting it running. I picked up a used vp ridged light bar. Will be getting the m.o.r.e. treatment. I also ordered a big D's bikini top. Picked up icon shocks. Also have 32p 56t spur and 8t pinion with a roc 412 3100kv.

I have been wondering when you were going to be putting those portal boxes to the test. I really want to buy a set but I have been waiting on you to see how they turn out and hold up. Keep us posted

Late updates. Installed 32p gears, roc 412 motor. Painted r2j sliders.

Now for bling update. I also think I'm the first to add portals to curries?
