Default Evening on the Trail!

Had great fun! found some new spots!

That hill was about 7ft tall and around a 80 degree angle near the top, took some practice, but I made I made it up!

Time to clean up the mess I made..

SpeedRCer....question for you. Does that bumper have any adjustability at the mount (ie. do you think it will fit wider frame rails other then an SCX). thanks

Rig looks nice!

I don't think so.. you would have to bend the metal it uses to mount, but i think that might be risky, in the end its probably best to make your own mounts if you're putting it on a wider chassis.. so no, imo, no flexibility at all, literally, this thing is tough!

Wow. Looks awesome. Ill be there soon. You are picking the same items i am thinking if installing. I like the front/rear bumper mod. My only suggestion would be to flip your steering bolts so the nut is on top. I was hanging up quit a bit until i flipped mine. Awesome rig.

Default 1st JK with Speaker for Music!?

Last night I bought this thing for $10 It's a "BOOM Cube" it just happened to fit in a sweet spot so I decided to put it in my SCX10 for the lonely trail runs by plugin up an iPod shuffle to it and sticking it on the underside of the body. probably won't use it much, but it looks awesome!

Here is some photos from start to finish of the install!

Cut out a piece of electrical tape around the actual speaker part and it looks like it will fit perfectly where I want it to go!

Cut out the square with an x-acto knife

Just a test! Hopefully the end result ^

Super glued it and applied the new sticker and here is what I got! fits no problem in between the body posts with room underneath to spare for an extra lipo or w/e.

Overall pleased with the look! The sound quality isn't to bad either, pretty much like a louder iPhone speaker so it sounds nice.. waiting on some R2J FSL-2 sliders to add some extra mounting points for the iPod and stuff.. what do you guys think? I know it's waaay unnecessary to have this, but its pretty cool IMO just need some tiny "kicker" decals to complete it.

Good observation, didn't even think about that, and looking at the pictures it's hit a few rocks!

It's actually one of those "As seen on TV" items, I picked it up at my local Walmart in the "As seen on TV" section! apparently they have a lot of color choices, but this one and an all white one were all I had to choose from..

and thanks!

Default More new things!

Picked up a few New Items from RPP a while ago

Axial Simple LED Controller w/LED lights (4 White and 2 Red)
RC4WD King Scale Shocks (100mm)
TY'S TOW ROPE (ORANGE)
Pro-Line #2 (High lift jack, pry bar, shovel, axe)

Arranged the light kit to give me some front Rock Lights

All lights are hooked into a seperate power source using the GEAR HEAD RC 4 (AAA) pack with switch. those will soon be resting on some R2j FSL-2 Sliders hopefully later this week.

The KING shocks are super soft never skipping a beat, and they look absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful build. I'm looking at getting a set of omf wheels and with the hub you got did it widen the truck or stay stock?

Also on the bumper question it will fit a wider frame. I had to make mine wider because I'm using the Jenve battery tray. It was only probably 1/8" but it is still possible. The frame mounts are screwed to the bumper and could be flipped for a much wider frame or as it I did and slot the holes and trim down the mount.

Thanks!

Yeah, The VP .725 hubs do make the jeeps stance wider than stock, to get a good idea of how your truck would look with those hubs is to loosen the wheel nut a bit and look from the top, down on your fender flares and pull out the tire until the center of the Trepadors line up with the edge of your flares, do that all around to get an idea.

Since I replaced the Shocks with the 100mm KINGS I think I may go to the .850 hubs to stabilize it a bit more, but I'm not sure..

Thanks for the info on the bumper, I completely missed that. haha!

How do you like those king shocks?? 100mm to long? i know that the stock are 90mm.. I'm looking into those for my JK. I have the new bright so it maybe a bit heavier...

I like them a lot.

I have not put any more shock oil in them then they came with so far because I like they way the feel and the height they make my truck sit at.

I think you may want to put in some shock oil if your body is a bit more on the heavy side.

A few months ago I had to let go of the JK, as I ran into some financial troubles.. Here are the last pics I took the day before I sold her.

The RC fleet

And the day of.. all parts accounted for..

Now I'm back into RC and am still on the scale side of things. Its just a bit LARGER

Will definitely be getting another SCX-10 in the future and will try to go to some events! it was an excellent experience none the less! Look out for another SCX-10 in the future from me!

Thanks guys!
