Now for the electronics, I've been very happy with the power and control with my Tekin RS/Roc 412 system in my first JK so I went with the new Tekin RS Gen2 ESC and a Roc 412 3100kv brushless motor. An awesome new feature of the RS Gen2 ESC is the EZ access HotWire programming port so you no longer have to unplug the ESC plug from the receiver to program your RS ESC with the Hotwire program. ![]() With Hotwire programing cable connected to the EZ access port ![]() ![]() In order for me to get the body as low as possible to the chassis I had to trim the rear body post mounts so they could be lowered just a little bit more. This allowed me to get the bottom of the tailgate just above the rear chassis brace for a nice clean look as seen in this pic. ![]() This pic is just an example of where I cut the rear body post mounts, I don't actually cut the front body mounts ![]() Here's a shot of the right body post mount trimmed and the left body post installed with the body clip installed below the mount to keep the post in place ![]() Unfortunately I had to trim off the top spur gear cover screw mount ![]() Next up will be decking out the body with all kinds of scale accessories from Proline courtesy from Mark at TGNDistributing ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by badger; 11-15-2013 at 12:43 AM. |

That capacitor comes with the Tekin speed controller, and is provided by Tekin. They are only needed for Tekins controllers.

Is the battery and electronics in the stock position? Also if not I'm curious to know what relocating kit or techniques you are using? Thanks and nice build!

| ![]() Nope, the electronics box he moved to the back, which is easy and takes no mods. The battery is usually either up front or in the back in line with the chassis, he moved it to where it is with a plate and zip ties looks like. Better weight distribution putting it there.

I did the same battery plate mod that I did with my first JK build. I think it's a perfect location for the smaller 3s battery. It makes the rig very well balanced and predictable when climbing or jumping. Here is the into and pics from that build thread. Quote:

Awesome build. I'm kinda disappointed that the flares we're molded into the body and having no rear bumper looks really weird to me. Too bad they didn't include one.

Awesome build you have going here! I will definitely be picking up this body when they release it separately.
