My Vanquish CMS parts came in today, guessing know what I'll be doing tonight. We will see if I can get unlimited shock travel out of it. Still waiting on my Howler Kustoms electronics tray. |

Spent some time getting the VP CMS parts installed. These are my first Vanquish parts I've ever dealt with. The fit and finish is excellent. I do like the double shear mounts, it's a nice touch. The location of the 3 link mount is poorly designed in my opinion. I'd like to see the link mount moved towards the pinion and out from under the panhard. The panhard axle mount has two holes for options which is nice but I feel the perfect hole location is smack dab in between the two holes in the mount. I've got this setup about as good as I can get it. I used the lower hole in the pan hard mount and the offset ball end to gain a little more clearance. |

Take a look at the L3rc kit with the 4 link mount. Works good for me.

I don't like the servo placement on the L3 kit. I've got this to where I'm somewhat happy with it. I may design my own axle mount in the future. Waiting to hear back from VP on why the upper link hits the frame.

Got my Howler Customs tray. It's a little tweaked where it mounts to the front crossmember but nothing I can't fix. Got it installed with my own standoffs. I will add some height to the standoffs because the tray is visible slightly in the wheel well. Can't wait to run! Looks like I may be trading an ESC for a JK Unlimited body that may go on this chassis as well. |

Started rooting around my spare parts drawer and found an old bumper from my Clod bodied scaler from way back. I started cutting it up to make it work for the G6. Still have some work to do. Last edited by rckjeep; 01-11-2015 at 02:55 PM. |

She's alive!!! Still have a bunch to do. Including make some sliders, wire in a BEC., winch, driver, scale items, lights and new foams. Desperately need new foams. I'd like to run some 1.9 Pit Bull Rock Beasts which would give me more up travel. These BFGs are really big. How's the factory light buckets working for everyone? |

I've been running them for nearly a year since I built mine and I quite like them. A lot of folks go with light bars, but I don't feel any need. Only downside is that the lens covers can sometimes pop off, but nothing that a little shoe goo, CA or liquid electrical tape can't fix. Here's a recent picture (3 middle lights were on flashers when this was taken, which is why they look turned off). RB 1.9s are the truth. Enjoy! |

Ordered up some CI foams. Went with the closed cell foams. Do you guys vent your tires?

I spent a few hours at Chino63's shop and he gave the trick to better foams. So I'm working on getting that going. I cancelled the order for the CI foams and ordered the SSD-RC front bumper. I will mount my 3 Racing winch then it's finding out which controller to use. Most likely I will order a Heyok but we'll see. My rear bumper is almost done. It's mounted but needs two more screws to secure it then a little paint. It's heavy for better than nothing Pics to come |

Took the jeep out to a local spot today for its official first run. She did a lot better than I thought. It's pretty impressive Ordered the SSD-RC bumper. Made a rear bumper but still need to mount it fully and paint it. Last edited by rckjeep; 01-22-2015 at 07:16 PM. |

Found some great deals at TCS Crawlers. Ordered some Vanquish high steer knuckles, Lil' Nova foams and all the parts for some Axial universals. I will install a set of HD gears in the front axle at the same time. I've also got a Castle BEC to install.

Spent a little time tonight installing the parts from TCS Crawlers. A set of Axial CVDs and some VP zero Ackerman knuckles. I'm goin to have to make a new tie rod since the steering arms are about a 1/4" further apart than the stock knuckles. So a tie rod in the neighborhood of 6" eye to eye is in order. The question is do I add some bends for clearance? I've also decided to run smaller tires, so the stock Trepadors are going the SSD-RC wheels. |

Anyone have any suggestions what to do about the spur gear wearing a hole in the body? I refuse to raise the body. I'm thinking about heating up the body and pushing a small bubble to clear the spur. Thoughts on that?

Not much else to do if you refuse to raise the body and mount the std spur cover? Or perhaps aluminium tape on the body might help.

Well I will give the heat gun a shot. If it messes up the body I'll put the unlimited JK body on. The zero Ackerman knuckles and Axial CVDs really help with steering angle. I do have a question though. Once the servo is turned on, I don't get even steering on both sides. I've checked the EPA settings and they are maxed. Any suggestions?

I'm a newbie when it comes to scalers/Axial, but not so much in RC Possibly a simple error: have you removed the servohorn after your various steering upgrades then remounted it with the servo switched on (and radio ch1 EPA/trim reset), to make sure the wheels point as straight as possible? AFAIK the servohorn must be perpendicular to the ground so the horn has even amounts of travel both ways.

I added some length to the drag link, shortened the tie rod I made a bit, to stop the toe out. Recentered the servo horn and have even steering left to right. Everything but the servo will steer more but this will do. I also noticed the drag link rubbing the tire. I had the tie rod below the high steer arms and the drag link above on the furthest hole out. I moved the drag link back a hole and it seems to work fine. Now for some testing!

Hi, I am currently also working my way through a G6 kit. When installing the shocks I noticed that they are already leaking at the bottom. I read up on that and it appears to be a common issue with them. I put some green slime on the lower o-rings but they are still leaking. Do you see the same with your kit? |
