He's talking about the entire inner C or one of the ears breaking off which is a valid concern. Hopefully we find out that they are very hard to break.

I'd think you would bend the housing before you broke the c...

| Re: Vanquish currie rockjock axels Ah, totally valid. I could try being a bit harder on my prototype axles and see what I can do to get them to fail.

what im saying is.. for competition plastic slide over rocks better hands down.. take this for example. delrin tubes and cases were made to take place of berg stock parts because it slides over rocks better. ive had alum axles and plastic. I like the plastic better.. I just don't see alum axles have a point other than being "bulletproof" and "more scale" I just don't see that much of a benefit from them.. unless your doing u4 racing or ttc. just my opinion. | |

Yes, snapping the ears off. Even though I know VP makes the best stuff out and I have already ran Thousands of dollars of their stuff in the past 4 years over several projects and have yet to see anything fail. Investing that large of an about on 1 item that may be thrown away after the possibility of a few runs is kind of worrisome.

I'm more interested in Vanquish cleaning up that transmission. The axles are perfect as they are.

It's always been anyone's guess with any new VP products, especially the higher end stuff like these axles. You just have to be patient and jump on them as soon as they are available or you'll miss out. They're always worth the wait though. It took forever for VP to finally get the Rockjocks in XR width but boy do I love them. I'll have a set of these new Curries too for sure.

| Re: Vanquish currie rockjock axels I was being facetious, my point is that the AX10 trans IS the fix for the kit trans. Smaller, lighter, simpler, lower COG, I still haven't seen one benefit from the new trans. SSD and GCM also have a good fix that's much better designed and actually is scale.

Agreed, on both counts. Of course if someone can't tell that the OG trans case doesn't fit the new style trans internals, they need to have their tools taken away.
