I make the money, I get the toys. Justification is easy for me.

Good that they have the issues with the new machines ironed out. Our ordeal wasnt that eas or cheap... We installed a north of $500k optical sorter in our wash plant a few years ago and it was a giant piece of crap for 2 years. We finally got tired of paying the techs $15k (we split the cost with another potato plant having similar issues thankfully) a week to fly our from Germany every few months to adjust it and went "farmer style" and learned how to do it ourselves.

Its all about cost vs benefit. I have $800 worth of parts in my 16yo Rustler, but only because I put a huge motor/battery combo and destroyed my way through the old everything, replacing stuff that broke with good quality metal bits. After a certain point, I decided I wanted everything else mechanical to be up to the same standard, including the wheels/tires/foams, wheel hubs, etc, so that it would run great and be more or less bulletproof. But I tried to stay away from anything that didn't need replacing, especially if the benefit was mostly cosmetic. Otherwise it would have turned into a $1300 RC car.

Plus considering the expenses of running and maintaining my collection of hobby grade RCs, which at this point amounts to 6 trucks, 5 airplanes, 3 helicopters, and a hovercraft - none of them even close to stock - PLUS my 1:1 1968 Mustang GT fastback, a vintage sailboat, and oh yeah I also play guitar so many thousands worth of that stuff...

Yup. Can't justify $250 on a shiny set of axles.

1) That is by far my favorite SCX10-II build, and what inspired to go the extra mile and paint the body something other than monotone.

2) How well have those axles held up to rock rash? I say this while looking at my lower linkages, which are scratched and gouged like crazy.

Got mine installed and bought another set waiting on gears from twomanyrc i really like how they wnt together i did find a little air gap on the top of the cover where it bolts up by the upper link mount ,took a thin bead of ultra gray rtv and sealed it right up. Just hope that some day vp will make their own gears /ring and pinion and put a e clip on the pinion so the pinion can not work in and out.

1. Thanks sir. Your truck is very nice.

2. Axles have taken everything I could throw at them. They're beyond strong.
