Some body prep, charging some LiPos currently for a run tomorrow, if the weather is decent, I hope to spray the body, or at least get a bit of colour on it.

I love Tamiya tape!

Couldn't decide if to add a black roof or not, in the end I decided against, so this is all ready for masking.

Out of interest, is there a rear light bucket that fits properly, or do you have to just DIY it?I'm leaving the lexan clear for the rears, to hopefully run a full set of lights, but the shape and size is quite odd and also quite big, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a light bucket that's a direct fit?

Top tip, long grub screws are excellent for creating a little handle on small items, much easier to paint.

I used the Knight Customs light buckets, and I liked them. But I believe Scale by Chris, RC Nerds, and even RC4WD have or at least had light buckets for the XJ.

Thanks chaps, I don't tend to look on Shapeways much because most things RC related seem to be in the USA.
I will take a look at some though now I know they make some.
I might end up making my own if they are all stateside though.
I don't plan on having indicators or reversing lights, so it can't be too difficult.

Ohhhh, we have colours!

That was too shiny for me, some Tamiya PS-55 soon fixed that!

Probably not the final position, my magnets are just drying at the moment, I've noticed the body is slightly twisted, either that or the rear bumper is, but once the magnets are on it should hopefully pull everything tight as needed.

Nowhere near finished I know, but I was taking the Bomber out yesterday, already had a LiPo half full for this and figured it would be rude not to see how it runs.

I also have a new body on the way for it, I wasn't happy with the coverage of the orange to begin with and got very frustrated at myself for putting body posts through the body, so I want to try again, but do I try with magnets again, I still can't find the right size needed.

Also, do I go orange with it again, because I like it, or do I take the opportunity to try a different colour?!

So many decisions to make... Opinions are welcome.

Nice camera shots

Appreciate the build details too. Mine's about due for some rebuild. Now I have better ideas about what needs fixing/upgrading.
I really am impressed with how well this rig runs.

gratuitous picture because orange is in

Really? Awesome. Happy to help!

This pic was shot when the black wheel arches and lower body panel had been stripped prior to repainting.

I use Velcro to hold my bodies on because I don't like body post holes either. I like the orange because I'm a San Francisco Giants fan.

I'm using magnets on my Killerbody Marauder shell as it's not for the rough and tumble I put the cherokee to.

A few others did suggest I try Velcro, but I worry about getting it lined up, same reason I don't use just normal magnets and be done with it.
The ring magnets sit on the body posts and in theory, are supposed to line up perfectly everytime.
I do wonder about Velcro though, it's certainly another option to think about.
