Re: Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! Hi there, I'm going to be picking up a Wraith kit, so I've been doing a LOT of reading on this forum and all around. I think the 13t CrawlMaster is the right motor for me, along with the Holmes BR-XL waterproofed ESC. However, I do have a question. The Holmes website says that the ESC is rated at 80 amps continuous, but does that mean that's the amp limit for any motor running off of it? Can the motor create a higher amp spike? I'm asking since I'm trying to figure out which Lipos to get in terms of amp draw. I e-mailed Holmes but have not gotten a response yet. Thanks! |
Re: Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! so , a bit of an update . i think i bought a damaged mmp , because it cogs at low rpm . ive double checked the sensor wire , tried a different one , tried a different motor and a different esc , with all cogging occurs if its the mmp is in sensored mode or smart sense , in sensorless it works , but its not smooth. the motor is a tekin 13.5 redline with a 12.5 high torque rotor. the gearing is 87/17 this is a video of the problem. Tekin 13.5 MMP Sensored cogging - YouTube it shouldn't be this bad right? |

Honestly I would try it by driving it to see if it is an issue. Make sure you are in sensored or smart sense and go try and push the tires over something fairly vertical starting from a dead stop, like a decent sized curb. Give it as little throttle as you can and try to inch up it, that will tell you if its acceptable or not. |
Re: Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! the mesh was loose as i've only put in the motor to make the video. |

is it smooth in reverse? i heard of a guy having all sorts of problems he had to flip his difs cause the mmp is cw only . just something to check good luck can this also be accomplished by switching the wires on the motor? |

Re: Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! I was thinking of piclking up that Axial 55t brushed motor. Only $18! I'm used to Nitro engines so this seems like a bargain hobby. |
