Your build is giving me a lot of ideas for rainy day projects to do to my Wraith. It's really starting to come together now.

Awesome build! How are you attaching the styrene to the stock floor pan?

Not much progress the last days because of other projects. But, I have finished front and rear compartment as well as cockpit finally. Going to paint all flat black soon.

Electronics is now waiting to be done. A racing gas tank that host the battery for lights and a sway bar are in the tube as well.

After a longer break I could work on the Wraith again. Painted styrene parts. Front compartment, rear compartment and interieur. I also installed anti sway bars. I used HR anti sway bar kit, but used 1,5 mm torsion steel istead of the HR ones. They were way to stiff. Flex is just 10mm less (measured at the outside of tires) than w/o anti sway bar which is still very good but chassis does not roll so easily.

What did you fabricate the compartments out of?

Lots of time passed since I last time worked on that Buggy. Had to tackle several issues with the hydraulic System. They are designed for trucks and excavators which do not have to work in such steep angles like we have at offroading. So I did alot of invastigation and testing. After several of possible options, I ended up modifying the Laimbach pump and added a snorkle to relocate the oil intake position in the tank. Now the pump sucks no air, no matter if the buggy stands even oon the wheels or lay up side down on the roof.

As I used the smallest available oil tank, the oil temperature rise quickly. So I add an oil cooler (I did not use at this test run). However, to add more oil to get temperature down again, I will use a Little bigger oil tank though.

Oil cooler:

Here is a short Video of the first test run. It really runs with true hydraulic steering No fake hydraulic like servo driven steering.
Still feels a Little different compared to servo steering but it is easy to get used to it.

You've made a really cool build!

I'm curious, what is that hydro system actually made for?

Actually it is made for RC Cranes (Trucks), Excavators and Wheel Loaders in 1/14.5 and 1/16 scale. I used smallest components (pump with oil tank, valve and cylinder) from Leimbach Modellbau and the oil cooler is from Scale Art. Leimbach has the smallest possible cylinder in this power range to fit to a 1/10 Buggy.

Short update:

Recently I saw a cool sounding sound module in another Wraith scaler and had a closer look at it. It had an evil V8 Sound like a real rock buggy. Soon after I came home, I ordered the sound module and the other day it came in. Easy to setup through USB interface on the PC and great quality appearance. The top of it, it perfectly fits into my Wraith's front compartment just if it was made for me Just had to glue some slides to hold the module in position. The engine Sound will drown the sound of the hydraulic pump.
