Looking forward to this build. Like seeing the use of the template. I'm a drafter by trade. If you ever want to draw one in Auto Cad hit me up, my office is down town.

Looking good so far. You sticking that axle/tire width or going with a different offset? Quote:

think 15.25" wide is as wide as ill go, i dont want the extra stress on components of going wider and i dont want a bunch of scrub in the steering either. The frame will have a rear crash/wheelie bar just like a fullsize monster truck. It will also have a HR wraith swaybar setup. |

I have a pair of wraith axles laying around that I was thinking of doing the same thing with. Chassis looks great so far, looking forward to some progress |

I pulled these axles out of my 2.2 bronco and honestly I'm not sure how much faith I have with them and the monster truck because 3 out of 4 universals were bent all to hell. And the little 2 gear axial diffs look pretty weak like a revo and are not that tunable since the 2 gear setup doesn't respond well to fluid changes (or should I say doesn't respond at all). They are also not sealed but you can put enough fluid in there to keep the gears lubed. We shall see how they hold up but I don't expect them to be bullet proof by any means. |

a little more progress today this is how you make sure you have matching sides, and then you un bolt them and finish welding both test fitting the skid and tranny and here is the electronics layout battery will go right above the tranny and everything else just above the front upper links where the rx8 is in the picture. tomorrow ill get the upper link mounts done and get it ready for shock and body mounts. |

upper links mounts in crossbrace as low as possible for battery mount (plate will go under the tube) good view of link geometry and nice high upper links like a monster truck needs. mocked up, ride height will be a hair lower and the body will be lower and cut aswell. top view looking at links and drive shaft. the axles are clocked a little with my servo plates and it gives a nice smooth drive shaft angle. new lower steering setup and yes the horn will be down and the tierod will go under the drag link, it is inline line with the center of the axle tube. |
