I'm back on schedule! I just finished this week's video over lunch. It will be live at midnight tonight.

This is week is yet again something different. I didn't spend any money this week. After last weekends King of the Goats competiton here in KC I have come to the realization of a few parts that need to be moved up in the schedule. To do that I need more MONEY! So I will be on a couple week spree of building up some bankroll!

King of the Goats was a BLAST though and the truck did incredible. I turned some great times but I know where I could have improved. It's almost time to really start stepping up. This will be Week 16, that means that up to this point I have added an additional $750 into this truck Crazy when you actually stop and think about that...

Yes a 35t will crawl well, however I would recommend the Holmes Hobbies 16t Crawlmaster Expert as a very smooth but budget friendly crawler motor. I run the 13t for a little more wheelspeed. The 16t is very similar in speed and torque to a 35t.
Hey Harely, welcome back, it seems like you had a lot of fun!

Need your quick advise before I place an order with Holmes Hobbies for the Crawlmaster Sport, Will this motor crawl well on 2S with the 16T (I didn't go for 3S).?

Thanks!

Yes it will still work fine, but down the road I suggest jumping to 3s!

Why does the end of that video say that you bought Vanquish CHubs? I thought you saved your money this week?

Wait, it said Week 13 at the end of the video

Damn, I screwed up there and forgot to update the scroll. I'll have to do some annotation work to try and fix that.

I hope I didn't miss this somewhere, but when you switched over to the VP 475 hubs which wheel hexes did you use?

I used standard Wraith hexes that I had laying around. You can get aftermarket sets pretty cheap.

What esc are you going with? I'm thinking brxl or mmp. I can't decide which one I think you will choose. Are you staying with the brushed motor that's in there from hh or going brushless? If bl, I would assume a roc412

Harley, You said you had problems with the tires coming off the bead. Do you know if the problem is the wheels or tires? What do you recommend to fix problem? I was going to try those Axial wheels but now I'm hesitant. Newbie trying to learn.

Thanks
Ed

I will be going brushless, so my standard MMP and a Tekin motor of some sort will be the call. Although Holmes does has a brushless motor of his own he would like me to try.

It's a combo of the two. If you go to the first page I did a review on the wheels. They held some RC4WD tires very nicely but they are having issues with the BFG's. The VOODOO's held pretty well but still half way let go in a few spots.

I did the same thing but with the stock tires on RC4WD wheels. No issues at all with the bead. But together, they are worthless

I don't like how the bfgs and those stock wheels look together with the wheel sitting far inside. I have some beadlocks that let go of the tires sometimes but at least they look good.

This week I am still building up the budget to be able to afford the brushless system.

A custom bumper was the freebie project of the week:
