I've been making progress. Trying to finish up the metal work today.

Cut out one of the cross braces to make a winch mount.






Added a fairlead mount up front





Added some "sliders" to get some more scale points

Wanted to add some style to the chassis as well.




I'll be adding a light bar insert to this as well.




Needed a light bar for points, so a MORE LLC equiped VP bar got mounted. I made two very simple plates.

I've had one of these TSS Billet radiators for quite awhile, I decided I wanted it in this truck.

Now started to make my way through this thread, I've got a question regarding installation on the Vanquish SLW wheel hubs.. You mentioned the Vanquish hubs use a 4-40 hardware for installation and from what I can see, each hub uses 6 screws to attach the wheel to it..

So why does Vanquish sell their "Scale Wheel screw kit" (link below) with only 21pcs of 4-40 screws!? Am I missing something somewhere?

Yes those will work. And extra hardware is always a good thing!

Next update...

I added tabs and panels to facilitate a simple interior as well as battery a battery mount and dash.









The interior is going to be a flat metal floor, nothing crazy. The dash will be 3D printed.

I did a mock up of the stock PSC body, I actually liked the style but I'll be going with some aluminum panels and skins.




Then it was time for primer!




While the paint was drying, I made the choice to throw the Curries under it.





Paint finally dried.

After everything dried I bolted things up. Still have a lot of details to finish up but most of those are 3D printing tasks.

Made two phone calls this morning to get the last of the parts I need (I hope).




I called Eddie @ Crawler Innovations and got some Deuces Wild single stage foams on the way. While a dual stage may have been a little better for the crawling portions, I just really like the handling of his single stage foams now.




Then I called Rick @ Super Shafty for a big favor. The shock mounts on this chassis are a little further forward and above the line of the front shock mounts. So I decided I wanted a little longer shock. Rick offered up a set of the Velvets in a couple lengths to fit my exact needs. Looking forward to running them on this truck, I have only ran them on my Twin Hammers before and while the shocks were great, I really dislike that truck so I never got the enjoyment out of them that I was after.




I also got a set of 6mm MIP ball ends for my driveshafts from Rick so that I could install my new Wraith version extended chromoly outputs.

The more I work on this truck the more it reminds me of my Jimmy's 4x4 truck that I competed with at the last TTC. Loved that rig.

I got a text from MORE LLC today and he made me aware that Jerry @ The DMG had one of his 3" Ultra4 style bars on hand. So I asked Jerry if I could steal his and have MORE send him a new one

It's hard to get a picture of these things they are so bright!

Next project of the night was the grill. This piece was designed to snap in and not need any hardware. I got lucky on the first shot and it worked.

I cranked up the resolution of the printer and wanted to see if it could do some detail. The grill letters are less than a half millimeter thick and pretty fine.




The lettering didn't come out super distinct but it was a shot in the dark anyway Good enough and time to move on to the next piece.

I start the CAD for the dash last night and got the first piece done. It will be a multi piece setup when completed. This is the main piece, there will be a front face that will house all the gauges, switches, etc; and finally there will be a column that attaches separately.






I hit print and went to bed. The print time was estimated at about 2 hours since I was printing at high detail. The part came out great, I'm very pleased!
