Default Wraaaaaaaaith

Not Wraith, Wraa-aa-aa-aaith. Like this...

Anywho, I figured it was time for Eyeball Engineering to get a new R&D rig. And here it is.

Through the magic of teh internets, here it is mostly assembled.

I don't have any immediate plans for mods, just some of the usual stuff. Figured I'd start up front with some good ol' homemade aluminum linkage thingies to get rid of the noodley plastic linkage thingies. You can bet that nearly any custom part that get put on this thing will be something I made, 'cause that's how I roll. I ain't built nuthin in a while and I'm 'a itchin'.

Since its going to be more of a bomber than a crawler, I plan to go brushless. As it sits its got a 2200kv Tacon motor that'll be powered by a 120a LT4 esc. I'll run that for a while, then swap to 32p gears and dig up a 3000kv 4 pole for it. If I feel the need for actual factual crawling, I'll swap in a brushed setup. Most likely my trusty Mag Mayhem/Sidewinder combo. Otherwise, all electronics will be scavenged from the Honcho. CCbec, servo winch, good strong steering servo, blah blah blah.

Glad to be building something. Its been too long.

Nope. Was going to sell it to a local, but I don't think I'm done with it yet.

If you mean gay as in happy and joyous, then you are 100% correct.

Made a bit of progress tonight.

Didn't like the steering servo hanging so far out, so I made a new mount. Eyeballed, of course.

In its home.

My servo. 291oz/in for less than $40, and titanium gears to boot. Hard to get a hold of though.

hmmmm.how much farther back does it sit?

I have a Rogue Elements winch plate for the wraith and I never could use it because the servo upon compression would smack the winch plate on the bottom instead of passing by the tailend of it.

If this plate is a bit farther back I could use it finally.
