Thank you for the kind words. Depending on foam set up, these could work on rock, but with the large lug spacing, they will be unpredictable on the rocks. ..Uploaded from the lab @ the C.I. Compound... | |

This rig is still up and running and gets lots of use. There are a few videos of it being raced on the CI tracks on Instagram. I'll try an post some new pics of it later today. Like any loved RC, it keeps evolving for more play. The transmission finally went out. So a full rebuild with good parts was in order. That picture shows what happens when the stock metal top gear from Axial is combined with Robinson Racing hardened steel idler gear and output gear. The axial top gear failed, and ruined the two RRP gears :-( Moral of the story, replace all three gears, not just the two plastic on high HP applications. Mo' Pics; This set is pricey, but it has held up very well in multiple applications for CI Update time; The Original Standard 5mm extended transmission outputs from Crawler Innovations were replaced with the new Lightened 5mm Extended transmission outputs also from Crawler Innovations. All together and ready for install; ..Uploaded from the lab @ the C.I. Compound... |

Nice! I rebuilt my transmission when I got the roc 412 motor - didn't really need to, but it was nice to use my entire old trans setup into my sons - and used the axial steel gears. Been running them for a while now, no wear whatsoever, no slipper, no holding back!

| Re: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig In search of new challenges and fresh terrain, Crawler Innovations hit the road during the summer of 2015. One of our stops was White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. White Sands National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located about 16 miles southwest of Alamogordo in western Otero County and northeastern Doņa Ana County in the state of New Mexico, at an elevation of 4,235 feet. CI had an amazing time at the park and this video was filmed there. Link to the White Sands website: https://www.nps.gov/whsa/index.htm This particular video features only three different Crawler Innovations vehicles. Up first is the CI AR60 based Monster truck. Here is a build thread for the vehicle: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig Next is an Axial Yeti with open front diff. It's build thread is here: Crawler Innovations Yeti #1 & Yeti #2 The final vehicle in the video is the CI Foffer and it's the last video of this truck in that form. After the trip the truck was completely disassembled and an all new car is being built to replace it. The build thread for the CI Foffer is here: --- The Crawler Innovations Water Skippin' FOFFer Build --- All three vehicles in the video are using Crawler Innovations 6 Bolt Wheels in the 1.50" Width using Vanquish Products SLW aluminum hubs. The video shows how durable the plastic wheels are. CWR-5004 is the part # for the wheels. All three vehicles are using Crawler Innovations foams. The Monster Truck is using 6.0 Double Deuce, the yeti is using Deuce's Wild 2.2 Tall, and the Foffer is using a soon to be released new Deuce's Wild size. Gavin produced this video for the channel. | Re: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig Wow, over two years since an update on this build. I suppose the fact that it's still in the stable speaks to how durable and fun this set up has been. Ultimately any RC that CI owns is a test rig for product development and quality. This truck has seen a few rebuild sessions and different motors over the last two years from Gavin and I. It's due for another rebuild. Surprisingly the Super Duty Body endured that long. | Re: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig One new product this truck has been testing is named Phallic Foams. This foam guard installs over the coil spring to protect the shock shaft from debris and prevent items from lodging in the coil spring. We have been testing two different sizes, essentially a 1:10 and a 1:8 size. This truck is using the 1:10 size. |

What wheels are those with the jconcepts tires? I have a set of those tires on some stupid wheels that crush the sidewalls and really want a better option.

| Re: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig I'm not a fan of plastic wheel hexes. Hence the reason why CI offers the 6 Bolt Wheels for use with the aluminum Vanquish Products SLW hub. Many other quality companies have recognized the VP SLW bolt pattern benchmark, showing honor and including it in their own wheel designs. Unfortunately JConcepts isn't one of them and the plastic hexes included with the all the 2.6" wheels are pathetically weak. I choose to modify my 2.6" wheel hub bolt holes by using a dremel with small carbide bit to elongate the holes. I then used a carbon fiber SLW ring on the outside of the wheel. I'm using older VP hubs from the Dirty Harry wheel line they produced. The hub bolts pass through the carbon fiber ring, the rim, and into the hub. This sandwiches the rim between the carbon fiber ring and the aluminum hub. Time will tell how strong this it. On to the pictures; |

| Re: Crawler Innovations AR60 Monster Truck Basher Test Rig CWR-3020 is designed for use in the JConcepts brand, "Fling King", 2.6" rim Mega Truck Racing tire with the JConcepts "Dragon" 2.6" rim/wheel. These foams will fit many other brands of tires and rims, as long as they are similiar in height and width. These foams are much firmer than anything available on the market. They do not fold over under load whether it's high speed, heavy weight, or simply turning. These foams rely on a small air gap between the foam and tire. This loose area allows for the tire to obtain traction, while the foam supports the tire. Approximate size: 4.875" Height x 1.750" Width (Remember that foam goes inside the tire and one must subtract lug and carcass thickness, plus any reinforcing from the overall tire height.) #activatedoutlaw #deuceswildfoams #rccrawler #crawlerinnovations |
