The rules say nothing but being mounted behind links. Just states it has to be a separate piece of solid material of a certain size.

Got the new ESC from John today. Thank you next day air!!!

She finally moves under her own power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. Took me like 2.5 hours to get the wiring the way I wanted but it looks great.

It looks like they're pushing the rules with those panels. I was told the same thing at a recent comp. Side panel is supposed to be on the outside of chassis and links must be under panel.

Well the rule committee said these are legal. So whoever told you that is making up their own rules.

I would think running the links outside the panels, if anything, would be a clearance disadvantage. I haven't seen it specificaly mentioned in and rules, but would think it would be up to the end user to decide.
