So far it rolls over just as well as my moonbuggy did. It's been too rainy to get it out on real rocks yet, but it does really well on my rockpile.

Thanks Mike. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The panels are really nice. Not sure I ever want to go back to lexan now. Can't wait to get it on some rocks!

I tinkered around with the suspension a little tonight. I figured out the problem where the front wasn't compressing until the rear was completely compressed. The 3.5" bigbores in front were sticking really bad. I'm not sure why, so I swapped them for two more out of my box and now the movement is butter smooth.

I also put some bent rod ends on the shock shafts in front. This angled the shocks in more at the top giving me more space for tires.

I had an issue with the bigbore in front sticking.
I took them apart and dipped the shafts in shock oil.
That fixed it, atleast they have worked finee for the last month, now that I did that. I think the o-rings were sticking or something along that line.

Mike's cab is a little different. I think there are a few less holes because he knows what works. I asked for one like his. The panels are made from very thin delrin sheets.

What O-rings are you using ?

Use Losi O-rings.

I've been tinkering around with the suspension some. It's so light that the rear end was acting funny coming off drops. I was using Losi golds in front and Axial Blacks in the rear.

First I softened up things by switching to some springs I picked up at work. They come out of a type of chemical dispenser that we use. They are a perfect fit for big bores and they are very soft.

Then I taped an ounce of weight to the bottom of both sides of the rear axles at the very end.

It worked better... but still had some undesirable characteristics. Pdog suggested stiffer springs in the rear which seemed wrong to me, but I tried them and haven't looked back. I think they are Mini T springs.

I added some Jeepin Dougs standoffs to the front... and a servo protector.

I also installed my VP upper link mount.

Now with the curves of Rockcrawler's Rocklinks and the extra height of the uppers, the battery is an easy fit.

We ran 17 practice courses this morning and I couldn't be happier with the set up.

Lookin good Harvo.
Have you taken it out for a shake down run to see what the changes did.
I see more and more ppl running the mini springs.

Yeah... all 17 courses this morning were with the changes. It's a sweet deal now. I'm still getting the hang of the new radio, and the knuckle weights make driving completely different too. Still getting used to being able to do things I couldn't with all that weight in the wheels.

More monkeying around....

Got my new wheels.

I also read something that Rene said about Big Bore 3.5" shocks being short of travel for a 3.5"er.

So I mounted some 4" big bores... but only in the front. I laid them back a hole more to keep the height about the same and consequently had to put on some slightly stiffer springs to balance everything out.

It rides at 3.25" at the front of the skid and 3.5 at the rear; a little taller than I prefer, but the extra travel is very nice.

I'm just experimenting with it, but I'm liking the feel of it. It feels alot like the stock chassis, with a bunch more clearance and a lot less weight.

If I don't like it, I can switch it back on the fly in less than 5 minutes

Scratch all that 4" shock jive.

Too many compromises for the little bit of extra travel. At practice today I threw the 3.5"ers back on and all was right with the world.

Scott got some video. maybe he'll post it a little later.

Thanks for the video Scott

Tonight I finally flipped the servo over. I also switched my front uppers to straight aluminum. They are lighter by a good bit, but the main reason was so I could space them out at the chassis to where they are supposed to be.

I have all the stuff to put a front axle on the rear too (thanks to Scott) but not before ECC...
