Holy hell...that is light. Man, with weights, you might be able to stay under 5 lbs.

@ 1:15, that = WHOA! Very nice!

If you wanted to try even more flex, perhaps install a smaller diameter bolt at the tail connection. Wrap in electrical tape for a bushing.

Man you don't know how much I would love to come drive with the two of you! Are you gonna be competing there to or just for support?

Haha ok So you're going to be running the Mantis I assume? How do you like it compared to the wedge?

Yeah mate, I got a bit more drive time on Saturday after adding some weight to the rig and to be honest I am not sure how much I liked it with the weight. I tried all of the lines from the video and saw no noticeable improvement in ability.

I am still yet to modify the front upper links but hope to get a chance to do them at work today.

Took this out last night to try out the bent uppers and wow what a difference. It is like a new rig so much more control over the rebound and the front end really came to life. I also had my first run on some red dot Khaos Rovers that I made. I am very impressed by these tyres. Foams were still a bit soft so I will have to pick up some more when I am in the U.S. Uncut they hook up so much better than an uncut Boss Claw.

im trying to get some buddies to make the trip to vegas just to watch... i mean it would be kinda lame if i didnt go... its practically in my back yard. lol not really. but 5 hr drive.. thats ez.

I would love to have all the BWD Mantis runners come together and share tuning... outside of the top secret comp stuff.

I just think it would be a cool video opt.

Sounds like a good idea dude.

I took this out today and put another 4 packs through it.

First pack i drove it with out any changes. I drove much the same as I have posted previously.

Second pack I swapped out the Mini-t orange (firm) springs for the Mini-t red (soft) springs. I also added around 80gms (3 ounces) more weight to the front axle with D-Lux knuckle weight rings. So I drove the whole pack with this set up and decided I liked it......a lot .

Third pack. It drove really really well. Heaps more control the back end stayed planted when I wanted it to and lifted a leg at the right times also.

Fourth pack same as the third.

I managed to set up two courses and drove them both a few times going forward and backward. After today I think I can comfortably compete with this car. I have a few more things to try and change but over all I am very happy with it.

Khaos Rovers need to be firmed up a little they are currently running CI Firm inners, Firm Inner tuning ring and 5.5 soft outers. I would like to try them with medium inner firm inner ring and medium outer combination and also medium inner Memory outer. But that will have to wait until I am in Vegas as as the foams will be waiting at the hotel for me.

I am going to try it with Mini-T pink springs as well.

There would have been some pictures and video if I did not leave my camera at work on friday

I just installed a pair of big bores with blue Mini-T springs replacing my axials. The 2662 shocks were factory assembled, so I don't know what's in them. When I cycle the chassis, it returns very slow. 2-3 seconds. The blue Mini-T spring is the second firmest, so it shouldn't be that. Do stock big bores need different fluid or pistons? This slow recovery isn't normal, is it?

It is the fluid and or piston. Personally I like the slow recovery. But you could swap in a piston with more holes or a lighter fluid if you want a faster shock.

Heh, I don't have enough experience to know what I want. So I kinda want to see what works for others for a baseline. If slow recovery doesn't mean something is wrong, then I have no problem with it.

I'm looking forward to a lot of industrial spying in Las Vegas.

Like yourself I am no expert, but the slow recovery may lend itself to being filled with a thick (heavy weight) oil. If you do not want the pain of changing oils try the firmer spring on your shocks. It should make them recover a bit quicker.

Also I went to install the pink springs this evening to find that they are the soft ones. So I will be staying with the reds for Nationals. I also Change the foams in my front KR's to CI firm inners, Proline memory outers with CI soft outer rings. So I will see how they go tomorrow night.

Rereading this thread, I see you started off with pretty narrow wheels. But you now have Khaos tires. Don't they like a wider wheel? And at one time you weren't impressed with the side-hilling. If these tires are taller, doesn't that make that worse? Maybe I missed it, but what wheel offsets do you run? Would a wider track help with the side-hilling?

The reason I like it, for a torsion hybrid is because it prevents unloading and tossing the torsioned end over with it. If that makes sense to you guys.
