Del Montes RT I saw was around 3.5 lbs at some point. Hoping I can be there also since I have taken every measure to lighten her. But time will tell.
What's the plan for foams? Have a light weight option figured out?

I will probably run double deuce closed cell iners, soft outers in the 5.25 flavor in the rear, and single stage soft foams in the front. I have had some issues in the past with the closed cell inner up front on light trucks. The single stage foam should hopefully fix that.

The servo is just a Futaba BLS157HV. Nothing fancy

I will get more pics once I finish getting the wheel base squared away

The closed cell foams are pretty heavy though, right?

Got some more work done tonight

I did this to both the front and rear. There is a raised spot. I took it off so the head of the screw clears the gear better. I also machined down the head of a button head screw aswell

The rear axle is complete. I decided go with TI shafts for the gear shafts F/R since they were only 4g, and I messed up my steel ones. This weight is 7g heavier then it will actually be once I have the stock plastic center section. Waiting for it to show up in the mail.

Weight with no electronics, wheels, or tires

Weight with everything I could find to throw on the scale except I forgot an RX. Not sure how much different the weight of the shaved rovers will be compared to the boss claws, but hopefully close. Looks like I might be able to be at about 3.5 lbs

And just a shot of her since I lengthened the wheel base to a proper 12.5

Thats the plan. All I have left to do if I remember right, is make an electronics tray, battery tray, Glue wheels and tires, then install the electronics. Going to work on it more tonight when I get back from the gym, then I have customer orders to work on the next couple nights. It will be cutting it close to the wire though

No Travis.... I dont think I will rock the gold wheels this time.

Well, tonight I finished up the small detail work. Made a ghetto little battery tray, and electronics tray. Got the plastic center section on the rear trans case, and put the TI gear shaft up front also. Mounted the motors, servo, and made a drag link.

I also ordered up some RcBros knuckle weight holders, and 4 full rings(going to cut em in half if the wheels will allow). When I put them on the front, the balance point ended up being nearly perfect!

All I really have left to do is mount the body, install the skid, glue up some wheels and tires, and wire in the electronics.

I am pretty happy with the weight so far. I was shooting for around 3 lbs 12 oz to 3 lbs 14 oz without added weight. To be about the 3 lbs 12oz with a couple OZ of knuckle weight is stellar

I have a few more little things I can do to lose weight, but for now am pretty happy. I plan to make a set of 7075 rear shafts, and a new locker to compliment it, do a little more gear lightening, Mill the motor plates, as well as a few other little tid bits to scratch a few more OZ out of her. Should be able to get her to about 3 lbs 10 oz RTR.

Hopefully I will have her all going on Saturday to run a pack or 2 for a shakedown run before Sundays comp.
