Tonight, I finally got the chance to get my new motors off the fridge and into a comp rig where they belong. After a quick test run around the garage, I went out to Horsemen's for some epic sunset crawling. My initial impression is that the new HH motors are incredibly smooth and powerful. This set has a little less top end then I am used to, but the low end resolution was so good that it was easy to tip-toe through stuff that I usually power over. I'm also really starting to like my narrowed set of Voodoo silver's. Between the narrower tires and major weight drop, the truck feels much more forgiving than it did before. |

Oh dang, I can't imagine how airy that rig must feel. How about knuckle weights; any? Going to cut pins at all?

After getting more detailed feedback on the motors, we can easily drop down to 30t without worrying about torque But first we will just try laydown brushes so stall torque isn't affected. Jake already has small comm arms too. Since these are smoother than crawlmasters, I have multiple tuning rotors being made for people that may want higher punch or brake. Like Nabil, he doesn't care about startup much! |

Site will be updated after nats most likely. 500s are going to production about 4.75 ounces in the SL version and 5.5 for the regular. 400s are between 4.25 and 4.4 ounces regular, we are still prototyping. I am redesigning the SL 400 to improve the specs. The last version built was 3.5 ounces and didn't have good torque density. A net loss of 18% weight but 35% torque is not the right direction to chase in such a small motor. FEMM analysis is being used to push torque back up.

How much did you narrow your Voodoo's? Also what advantage did/do you find running the silver compound over the gold? Last edited by chevotafun; 09-12-2013 at 11:53 AM. |

The truck worked pretty well in AZ. Unfortunately, it took me a few courses to figure out how to drive it. The 20pts I gave up in the first two courses really hurt when driving against a field as talented as this year's. Here's some video from Harley's coverage. Sadly, its of my first course and the truck looks pretty bad on the bonus climb. Once I started getting comfortable with the truck, it really started to work great.

Fantastic engineering work on that rear axle Jake! I'm sure you will be killing it as usual with that setup this year. I might even see you at a comp or two at some point. |
