I have been using 3/16" Grade 5 Ti or 7075 Aluminum with a 10-32 thread in Revo rod ends with pretty good success.
What are you doing with the 1/8" rod you are using?

I use grade 5 ... 3/16 and 1/8 ti rod ... The 1/8 I only use for upper links ,tie rods, and drag links ... 3/16 I make lower links and scaler stuff... I turn the 1/8 down to 3mm and thread it for the smaller traxxas ends

I got a surprise care package in the mail from robbob / krazed builds ....... For " product testing " if anybody can break sh1t it's me ;) .... Specially wheels and LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE

LADIES AND GENTS ..........THEEEESSSEEE ARE THE SEX YOU DREAM ABOUT ..... Some fresh g10 snowflake wheels to test for rigidity and design stamina to be made in carbon later" hopefully " ;) but fresh wheels need fresh tires and foams
I went with ULTRA NARROW SILVER VOODOO in the front and ULTRA NARROW BLUE in the rear along with crawler innovation double deuce 5.5 soft fronts with a tuning ring and 6" medium rear with no tuner ... Had to customize narrow foams to make them more narrow ...

......all done in house here at PURPMART ..... Thanks to robbob/krazed builds for the new shoes gonna go out dancin this weekend

I guess the wheels must be 0.7" since the ultra narrowed voodoos is 14,6mm thinner than the stock voodoo,,
PS,,, Got this tire combo on my reptile,, I mean silver and blue ultra narrowed from wheels7..
Great tire combo.,.
I wanna buy these wheels from Robbob in carbonfiber if he will make them??

They look really really cool! I think you are really close to the edge of structural integrity as ORK discovered a few years back. Let Purp beat them up and see.

The rear wheel is about 3/4 wide the front is about 7/8 ... I took about a half inch off the outer foam in the rear a 1/4 off the front ... The inner foam I shave the lip off each side leaving the " comp cut area"
