Here's what's great about a forum.
You skim over a post BUT YOU DON'T READ!#
YA I hit a tree. Broke a-arm. I had that screw out at bellcrank. The bellcrank was fine.
Went out to just run it as I didn't want to break anything else. Low and behold-busted.

DrivING this this is like a shooting a shotgun.
Point- aim and hope for the best.
And I'm pretty good at trap shooting.

When stuff breaks that I didn't do- I'm pissed.

The steering assembly from factory is horrendous.
The rear axle on mine now moves darn new 1/4 in side to side. Needs aftermarket rears links. I hope that would make it better.

I already have as much money in this pos as what I paid for it.
WTF!!

I only have it 15 days.

If you bought a brand new lawn mower and to spend money to fix it in a week. You might be angry to.

Fair enough, maybe when you damaged the A-arm the steering bellcrank got cracked and you didn't notice, either way sucks to be out of action again.

I get the frustration, I have had a bit better luck but if I had yours I'd be frustrated to. Reminds me of the stupid flybarless controller I had on one of my helis, every time I would go to take off it would dump it into the ground, cost me a week and a half and over $80 every time it happened, I almost lost my mind with that one.

The aluminum braces for the lower rear links should help, I have the kit and don't have any problems with the rear, I wouldn't worry about the upper links, they seem to do OK without the extra braces.

I hope your luck changes soon.

Might want to look into a T-Bone front bumper. It really helps prevent damage to the front of the YXL. One Just has to decide, do you want to give up some scale to dec broken parts and inc run time. If anyone did research on the YXL b/f they purchased it... Most of these issues and complaints have been well documented on this forum. It's an RC that requires a lot of mods to become what peeps on this thread are looking for. Now, I do understand the frustrations with a new kit or RTR coming with the HD gears. That's a bummer and would aggravate me as well. If you don't give up on it... Prob will become your favorite RC.

Just spent a little time putting the front diff together.
Don't have everything yet. But enough to try it.
Using all factory parts.
Put it together. This with new HD bevel gears.
Can't even turn it.
It's locked up.
Really kinda disappointed.
But when everthing arrives, I'll try it again.
If it still locks up.

The bhb mod will be done to it.

First broken part on the replacement.
Wheelie bar rod.
Following yeti xl tracks over 4 ft high rock wall.
Landed on bar, flipped forward. Wasn't pretty.
Fun to watch though.

Steering parts have arrived. Woohoo!!

Hey this stuff looks good.
I'll try and get it in the next couple of days.
For now. Nice work from dehawk!

I've been working with Jimmy. He's the only one that gave me the time of day!! He's a great guy and cares about his business and his customers .. Someday you might be able to a DHAWK DOMONATOR X SERIES of custom RC's that you order from (US) !! Assembled with aftermarket parts in the U.S

Hi Josh,
I like your everything you designed, and I can make all the parts,I think, but I need you to offer these parts drawings, also,I hope you can sell and assembly them in the U.S, you just pay me the payment for Cnc process, can you understand me?
If you have other advice, please let me know,
Thanks
Jimmy/Dhawk

Took the frt clip off. Removed frt slip from bulkhead.
Gears look good.

BHB mod did it. THANKS!!

Back to dhawk. Only problem is cross bar rubs on bulkhead. I'll thin it out tomorrow. Need some new screws for clip to bulkhead to.
I read about the cross bar rubbing.
Everything so far has been spot on.

Maybe just maybe I might get this POS running yet

Next will be the bhb high clearance mod.

Hey bhb- how about the dhawk trans.
Mine sqeals more than a stuck pig!!
Any possibility?

Make sure you thin out the bulkhead and not the crossbar! There is plenty of excess material on the bulkhead... Just wanted to let you know before you modified the wrong part! Hope it all goes well for you man!

Since this thread turned into who knows, i'll ask a probably stupid question. Is there another trans that anyone has considered? There has to be something stronger, better, faster (Sorry Steve) with the same configuration output as the YXL.

I disagree, I think its better to remove from the crossbar, You arent going to break that bar just removing 1 or 2 mm of material. Or you can chop into your shiny new bulkhead. Your choice. Usually I try to mod the cheaper of the two parts when I can.

I feel like your both right... I sander my Dhawk to fit the front clip instead of my a arms which also benefitted the drag link which also needs modification..

I can vaguely read on the top of it it says T-Maxx, which would make more sense since it has the brake.
