Thanks steve. That diagram is what the told me to do.
That's how I did it.
Tried it and evert hinges works.
1 problem though. The bec buzzes.
Not sure why. I ll call castle on Monday
And ask. Next week I'll be putting that y connector
In.
It already turns better.
Thanks to all for this forum.

Here's what it looks like now.
I'm gonna run it tomorrow.
Any help is apreciated.

Any suggestions of why the bec would be buzzing?

on my XLX I'm using the rear battery tray for a battery storage for my servos and lighting. I'm installing the bec's in the (rear) RX box and modifying a c.c fan to keep them cool and visible also far away from my RX to prevent interference..
so I plan on feeding 7.4 just to my servos solely of the bec's.. Supplying the RX with the 4.8 from the esc so Im not overloading the rx yet the servos getting full power... The signal wires are the only wires that will be used from the Rx to the servo..

Sorry for the post above ... I was trying to keep it simple and thinking that your bec wasn't installed yet... different senero when the bec is involved..

Mine is quiet. Sure it's not possibly the servo itself. My Savox will buzz pretty loud every now and then.

I have the same one as well, no buzzing either. Just noticed your pic, careful on that deans connector looks like you might have melted the housing a bit, make sure it still goes together Ok.

Pick up a holmes hobbies rx bypass or make your own using his pictures as reference. You wont have to pull red wire from esc and deal with all that nonsense. Then program bec to 7.4v. Also the buzzing is the hitec servo, not the bec.

Agreed. I've used the HH bypass in my last 10 builds. So simple and easy which makes it silly not to use. I usually buy 2 at a time cause sometimes they are not in stock just when I need them.

Buzzing CC BEC/ Hitec? Lift up your front end off the ground. No more buzz.

Buy it at RCRepairParts for

$5.99

New and improved with thicker 22ga wire and lower resistance for more power! This adapter allows the use of an external BEC for servo power without needing to disable your ESC's internal BEC.

Servo connects to +/-/signal plug and BEC connects to +/- plug. Signal/- connector plugs into the servo RX channel. The servo gets signal from the RX and shares a dual ground path to both RX and external BEC to prevent floating ground issues. A must-have for any crawler running over 300 ounce/inch servos!

Thanks capwn. Didn't see your post soon enough though.
I'll pick up the set screw. Already have taps.

Any loss in speed or torque
Cause of all the extra weight?

The screw weighs like nothing, and being center of the shaft is pretty damn well balanced all by itself.

Short answer, You are overthinking it.

The screw just keeps the shaft for wanting to twist where it engages the other portion of the shaft. Being hollow, I've seen it countless times with the WR8 ( i think, I never use them )shafts that the wraith and the SCX uses. It always fails on the male portion. So that's what I reinforced, I run 6S all the time with only 20% punch control. Still running the stock shaft that came with my kit, 6 months later. 2 or 3 times I've pulled and reset that set screw into that stock shaft, I have a backup in case it ever fails. I cant WAIT to see what it takes to make that happen tho, because I have beat the hell out of this truck..

I would never even think of buying an aftermarket shaft after using the reinforced stock one.. ESPECIALLY considering almost every aftermarket option I've seen a thread on here about it shattering :/

Thanks for the advice. Your right though.
I do tend to overthink somethings.
I can see this thing on 6s being wicked.
I can't control it on 4s.

By the way the new hitec servo works great.
I think I need to tone it down a bit with the tx.
When I get the y-connecter for the bec and run
7.4 to it. It should really be quick.

Anybody think the turning radius could be increased?

More wreckage. Lol!!
Noticed I didn't have 4 wd. After
Jumping off a rock wall along
My driveway. Left front axle popped
Out.
Thought I'd try jumping off it cause I
Changed the shock oil after fixing driveshaft.
Put 30 wt in rear and 45 wt in front.
The xl jumps and lands much better.
Rolled a few a times. Think that's when axle
Came out.

Here's where I was jumping from.
Come down from the fence and hit it.
Too much fun!!!

Just found why the axle is out.
L/f a-arm broke. Pic to follow.

There it is. Guess I'm done for a little.

Yup got to order parts. Lhs doesn't have.
Gonna get rpm arms.

Dhawk was ordered last week.
Be here wedesday or so.

I can fix this pretty easily.
But the l/f diff bearing is on
Vacation. It's done.
The bevel gears are all back
Ordered every place I tried.
So I'll fix this and run it.
Diffs are next. Thanks to bhb.

I ordered two sets from them Tuesday, showed up today. Just in time since the front diff decided to blow a bearing. Time to put the Dhawk bulkhead and new gears in.

Wow. This thing is the BIGGEST money pit
I've ever owned.

The Diffs will have to wait till next month.

Might be cheaper to just buy a chasis for the xl.
Then piece it together with all the upgraded aftermarket
Parts. Might be less expensive in the long run. Lol!!

When this gets back together I'm gonna beat it
Till death do us part. Lol!!
