It was a difficult time for me.

I will share what I have found with the stock Yeti, and what I think is where people should start.

Hubs:
Same ones as the PS Wraith that has been our for a while. Replace them.

Steering:
Change out all the plastic ball ends at a minimum.
Or... buy the VP links that include nice balls with the set, and change out the rest that don't come with it.
Get the VP steering shafts and bearings.
Lock out the servo saver! However you can.
Get an aluminum rack when available.

These things will greatly improve your steering. It isn't going to make it steer any sharper, but these upgrades make it predictable where it isn't in stock form.

Electronics:
Steering servo is pretty good but lacking. Upgrading that is just another plus to the overall feel of the steering.
The motor is fast on 3S. It also is set up for speed and not so much being bound up. When seriously bound, with stock gearing on 3S, it might thermal in hot conditions. GEAR DOWN to crawl in hot weather.
ESC I have not had a single issue, except shutting down due to me asking too much from it in big rock. It at least needs a BEC for serious crawling with the stock electronics on 3S.

Suspension:
Damn near perfect out of the box for what I have thrown at it. Basically anything I could. Tune to your specific needs.

Tires and wheels:
They are RTR tires and wheels. Why run those?
Ottsix U4 tires are amazing on the Yeti, as are the CI 6 bolts and DW foams.

Diffs:
300K in the front does not make a huge difference. 500K or higher, or locked is going to be the best for racing and crawling.

Driveline:
I have not had a single issue. But for durability I would upgrade. Plastic does not hold a candle to metal.

my motor seems to get pretty hot running on 3s, i unfortunately don't have a number yet, but it seems to be warmer than id like, and thats even after i switched to a 13t pinion. its not crazy fast, but its a good speed for this rig i think. what kind of motor temps were you seeing??

I have never measured my motor temp. I just know the one time trying to crawl hard it shut off.

I've been outed.

Yes sir the Yeti is on it way to Utah to be transformed into a U4RC 2.2 Trophy class rig thanks to Ottsix and UC Fab.

The process will be detailed in this thread so be sure to check back.

Look what showed up at my front door! Brian sent it with the radio and told me to go rip it around before starting the project.

I havent been able to put this thing down since it showed up. It surely got my squirrels running in my head.

The goal for this build is to transform this Yeti into a trophy class car.
At the same time designing a drop on cage for Ottsix racing.
thanks for sending this thing my way Brian, you will be a happy man. I promise
