Same here, I've sold my Twinhammers for the Yeti but I really miss the two speed gearbox.

Good, wasnt a dumb question..... I havent bought one yet, toss up between a yeti and a TH

Looking at stock specs, has a 3 channel reciever on the car but only a 2 speed radio. Therefore a radio upgrade would be required (unless that is a misprint from Axial). I would really like the 2 speed gearbox based on the TH I demoed.

We are working hard on the 2 speed parts and will release them once they are as durable as we can make them.

Yeti XL has been in development much longer than the 1/10th Yeti. Timing just worked out that way, definitely was not intentional and has not taken away from the 2 speed development

Correct, the AX3 radio is only a 2 channel. You will need a 3 channel TX/RX to operate the additional servo required when the 2 speed components are available.

Thank you for your answer, I'm sure Axial is working hard to give us the best parts possible.

For now, I swap the motor pinion from 16 to 12 teeth when I some crawling speed.
If you can confirm that the two speed parts won't be out soon (weeks or month ?), I'll buy a few
3S packs in order to have both speed and crawl ability.

So when do some of the Axial hop up parts start coming out for the XL? Pre-ordered mine today, couldn't resist the urge anymore. Looking forward to the bling un-breakable parts to start coming out.

Hey Brandon I'm also wondering about the 2 speed, can you at least tell how things are going with the development process? What has needed fixed from the original design and such? Oh and a ship date would be cool too

There are new options available on the Axial Website (link plates, front locker, turnbuckles).
Axial Racing - Yeti

Now upate on the two speed tranny...

The yeti was clearly designed to have one, but I wonder if they have changed theyre mind...

Btw, anyone know what is this part Ax31126 ?

Is it just too cold for that 2 speed R&D?

Axial website said:
Optional two-speed transmission component sold separately.

They don't even say that it's not available yet...

Is anyone else irritated that the 2 speed option (if it ever comes out) requires a 3 channel radio and all we got was a 2 channel? Unless I am missing some hidden trick or feature I thought you had to have another channel and servo to "switch" the gears? If so we should have been supplied with the correct radio to make this happen as it was marketed as 2 speed RTR, with the 2 speed parts to come later. Am I off???

I'm not irritated, and honestly have no interest in adding a 2 speed to my two yetis. I have outfitted mine to have plenty of speed and torque
