They're the standard sized DW's and for perfect with the U4's. CI recommended to widen the vanquish wheel hoops though, so I used the CarterFab 1" cans

I started mocking up the Tekin electronics in the Yeti build. RX8 Gen2 and the Pro4HD 3000kv. First was the motor:

It fit perfect I to the HR motor mount and plate:

The length of the Pro4HD was perfect, although it will be tight with the sensor wire

Next was the RX8 Gen2. I used the flat ESC tray that was included in the Yeti's huge parts bag. Seems to be made for the RX8!

Now the rx8 mocked up:

And a view from the other side

After test fitting the body, looks like I have about 3/8"-1/2" of room, so I'll have to do some right angle soldering off the rx8's posts. All is good!

Working in the shop today, I pieced together some rod ends from the Pro-Line Kit and some AE short 4mm x 32mm turnbuckles for some added durability on the rear sway bars

Default The RCNetwork's Yeti Build!

I received in a "Black Friday" package today of some supplement parts form Amain. Sometimes those last few items you need are so expensive! Lol

I picked up a few Robinson Racing Hardened pinions, with the 14t landing on the Pro4HD first.

Next, I wasn't happy with the stock recommended SLW hubs, so I picked up a 475 for the front to widen it and a 600 for the rear to narrow a bit.

Lastly, this damn thing jumped in my virtual cart. The new STRC steering rack. I plan to still use the vanquish rack, but either can be passed to the upcoming kit I just received in.

Put it on...put it on....put it on...lol.. I have used the 11 14 16 and 18 opinions...I really like the 18. I was amazed at how fast this thigs goes and still crawls predictably (which is a +) as always good work Rich !

I got the pinion and the SLWs on, but being about midnight when I shot those photos, I didn't feel like tearing down the whole front clip and mess with the steering! Lol. Saturday is the day though!

I started soldering in the RX8 Gen2 and Pro4HD 3000kv today.

I ended up tilting the motor toward the left side of the buggy to allow for better wire management.

It turned out pretty nice!

Next, added a Deans connector

I may trim this down later....

Lastly, routed all the receiver leads to the sub mounted recv box. Kind of a pain, and no photo will make it look good! Lol

I did add the included Hitec Voltage cap (came with the servo)

I've got to solder up my RX8 and i'm sorta dreading it - I don't want to make a hash of the task with such expensive gear :/

I love soldering onto an RX8. The gold posts are perfect for soldering on to. The big hidden step is to crimp the wires after you tin them. Make it easier to allow them to slide into the posts. I made a video a while back:

Yep, watched your video three times already and have it bookmarked again to watch right before I do the deed Also learned how to solder Deans connectors thanks to your video on the topic!

I only have a cheap solder, and as much as I think it's weak to blame tools, I think it hinders me to a fair extent.

I often have trouble tinning the ends of the wires - they certainly don't tin for me like they do for you. And I believe that's due to the wires not being hot enough, so the solder doesn't flow too well into the core of the wire as yours do in the video, even though I have 40% lead solder.

Actually, a question for you.

When I strip back the silicone cables (that connect to the ESC/motor/battery), I twist the exposed strands in order to keep them together - is that the source of my problems because I've squashed them and thus the solder can't run through the strands??
