Any idea if this works with the ax2 2 speed?

| Re: ToyZuki's Fabrication Low Center of Gravity Motor Mount I don't see why it wouldn't! I'm not familiar with the internals of the ax2 though. May have to leave their input shaft in the trans and buy an axial slipper setup in the front. But I would imagine that the input shaft of the ax2 is pretty close to the same dimensions as the axial.

Unfortunately no. But this is how I'm getting it done. If it were mine is shave that bolt off the top too, but this is a customers rig! Last edited by ToyZuki; 08-13-2014 at 12:23 PM. |

Got a JCAD 3-link front truss, 4-link rear, his chassis end panhard mount, and the CMS bracket with the battery tray on the way soon for my Mog build. Any idea if this bracket will allow clearance at the axle/upper link at Dingo wheelbase (11.4")? Beings I am getting the version of JCAD's CMS bracket without the servo winch tray/extended battery mount, the spur and pinion should easily clear anything on the chassis itself. Really wanting to get the CG down as low as possible with a rig that tall, and every little bit helps. Also curious, does the motor being on the left side have any negative effects on torque twist or balance? Shoot me a PM when you get a little time. Thanks!

Hey there, I've been eyeing this kit for sometime and I'm seriously considering it for my new class 1 Amigo build! I'm wondering if it will fit an STRC short wheel-base chassis with either a home-brew or RC4WD CMS kit. I'm still in the early stages of the build and haven't committed to any one way of doing things yet. Anything I can do to lower the COG with that heavy Amigo body will help |

I'm not familiar with the strc chassis but I've mounted it in a few homebrew chassis. The only issue you'll run into is the sides are milled to lock inside the scx10 rails with only 1 mounting bolt per side. I remedy that by adding a turn buckle to the top to prevent it from rocking back and forth! Rc4wd cms works!

I'm looking at the pics and have to ask, if I install a dinky split skid, is my driveshaft going to clear the end of a 540 motor? The t-case is so much shorter than the sideways mounted stock case that it looks to me that my driveshaft won't clear the end of the motor at the downward angle.

I would agree with you. I think it would be tight. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I should have my tcase on the market soon!

This is a quoted pm from a customer(with his permission). I deleted his name so he's not held accountable if others can't pull it off but it looks good to me! Quote: Not sure if I already responded, but here's a few pics of the setup. Had to cut down the axial end of the driveline and shorten them to make it work. It does slightly rub on the driveshaft but not horrible. I'm willing to bet with an MIP shaft it wouldn't rub at all. The rig has had at least 10 runs without issue. Let me know if these help. If needed I could try to clean it up a bit and pull out my lightbox. These were all taken with the iPhone 6. End quote: We talked more about his rubbing issue and it sounds like an easy add a few teeth to the pinion or spur to push the motor down a bit to cure it. Or maybe use a short (dig) MIP with a long wraith yoke to push the CV farther back! I'm sure its doable if you try hard enough, and trust me its worth it! I run no weight in my wheels anymore and still stay on the top of the scores! |

A junfac carbon steel driveline is smaller in diameter and will give you the needed clearance if a pinion/spur change isnt a option |
