I'm actually fine with riding in the "cold".....just makes my eyes water for the first mile or so...

Talking about cold weather riding, I just jumped on the 45nrth bandwagon. A lot of guys up here wear the Wolfhammer boot. I must say it seems like it's going to be great for 10-30 degree rides.

Rode squirrel gap in Pisgah today for the first time with a friend. Brutally steep in sections going up, fun coming back down though. In case it isn't obvious, I've grown very fond of Pisgah National Forest. It's such a unique place, as it encompasses so much land, that you can get a completely different kind of ride (type of trail, scenery wise, etc) every time you go out there. When that was done, we headed over to Brevard for some pump track action on the dirt jumpers. I'm beat!

this is my commute to work everyday, 20 miles. Great coming home, but absolutely pitch black in the morning. Sure I can take the main road and will save me about 3 miles and much faster, but the one time I did I got hit by a car. Beside it's so quite and peaceful in the forest anyways.

thanks Nate. I love it, usually it's just me and another guy in a fatty in the morning and in the afternoon it's just me. I guess everyone just wants to get home. I usually stop by the same spot everyday and have my coffee before heading home. Just ten minutes of peace and quite makes a lifetime of difference for me.

I'm with Nate, that's a cool ass commute. I wish I could commute to work, but since we moved offices (too many really busy roads and intersections during the AM when people are half asleep behind the wheel) there's no way in hell I'm doing it.

thats why I stay away from the main road. Guy tries to pass me so he can make a right turn. He ended up clipping my front tire and he just kept going like nothing happened. Luckily for me there was another motorist who saw the whole thing and chased after the guy who was behind the wheel.

rupps5, we got out this past weekend as well. I wasn't about to pass up 70 degree weather in December.

Nice, love to stop in the cold weather, drink a cup of hot coffee watching nature go by and then continue my ride! That's hard to do here...but I manage occasionally. Yes amazing what ten minutes like that will do for the mind and body.

Iceland is warmer.lol. I live in a little place called Manitoba, Canada, right on the arctic circle...oh and beside North Dakota. By the time January hits, we are averaging at -15 to -20F for a daytime high. I have to drink my coffee really fast when I stop, otherwise the cup will get stuck to your mouth.lol

Ahh.....I just searched the, what I assumed, area code listed in your location and it turned up as Iceland.

Yeah, I doubt I would get out of bed if the temp was -20*...
