taco - I ordered the digital version. There's no benefit to buying the physical disk IMO, and you have to go feed the console discs also when you change games, no thanks. I change my living room layout slightly for racing games with the wheel stand, and it makes getting to the XB1 annoying. Cory - The PC version is cheaper because it's two years old. I'm doing the console version for just that reason, plenty of other racing titles on PC for me once I get my PC mobo repaired. |

Taco, seems I'm wrong, that's the physical disk version, and I pre-ordered it already. I'm going to send them an email asking if I can cancel it, if there will be a digital version, odd that it's not showing up anywhere.

Got my shifter on Tuesday, and had to wait till today for the pedals to show up. I flipped them to GT style, installed the conical brake mod, and did plenty of tweaking with pedal position and tilt. The conical brake feels damn good BTW. I also installed a different shift knob, which shortened the throw a good bit, and cranked the tension on the shifter. It took a good while to get a feel for things, but by the end of the evening, heel & toe shifting was starting to come together. And, I should have figured out the table over the wheelstand idea sooner, much more immersive having the TV right in front of you. I can actually look through a corner now. |

I have Horizon 2, I'll check on the tuning aspect as it's something I never got that far into honestly.

I found this tx servo base on ebay, talked with the seller at length, and took the gamble. Initial tests seemed like everything was OK after flashing the latest firmware, so I ordered a GT28 wheel rim for it. When the wheel rim arrived yesterday, I installed it and discovered that the wheel column had some vertical play, and while playing I was getting a pop every now and then and the wheel wouldn't return to center. Knowing it had to be belt / cog related, I tore into it. Turns out all I had to do was adjust the tensioners (bottom right two screws with red on them) on the belt that runs to the wheel, and put it back together. I flogged it for a good two or three hours last night and I think it's good to go. If it lasts a week, a month, or five years, I can't complain at all for what I paid for it. The one thing that I noticed is how much stronger and faster the FFB is with the TX base vs the TMX I already had. I'm having to lower all my in game FFB settings, as the TX will literally rip itself out of your hands. Bumps and any other fast FFB signals are much more pronounced, as are curbs, etc. I was truly tired from turning laps fighting the wheel in Pcars and Dirt Rally last night with the TX. That's not to say the TMX is bad, not at all actually, but there's a price point here, and this is how they meet it. It's pretty much the performance difference between a brushed and brushless RC, as that's the main difference between the two. All mounted up, been messing with my pedals some more also. I like the standard pedal orientation for heel / toe, but prefer the clutch angle in GT style. First world problems right? |

Forza always has shit tons of cars. I think they prioritize that over actual game play and fixing bugs. It's the game developer equivalent of an internet e peen contest; "Yeah, but we still have more cars than they do." Unless they do something ground breaking with the physics, I'm done with the Forza series. Also, there is a known bug after the August XB1 update that affects all wheel users. If you play for more than 10 minutes or so without hitting any normal controller buttons, the screen goes dim. Apparently MS did this once before, and fixed it, now they broke it again because somebody didn't take notes the first farking time. And, they have of course tried to pin it on wheel manufacturers, game developers, etc, typical MS. Last edited by hpiguy; 08-17-2016 at 08:02 AM. |

Yeah, I can understand that Cory. Hoepfully FH3 is well done, I still need spend some time with FH2 with the new wheel and see what I think. I tell you what game series I thoroughly enjoyed both the customizing, and playing online with friends, was Need For Speed Underground. Man, we played the shit outta that back in the day, lots of late night drift trains bullshitting with your buddies. Need For Speed 2015 was really pretty, but the physics were horrible, and no wheel support on any NFS titles now.

im sure it will be quite arcady, but i think im ok with that. I had that game. "get low, get low get low get low....to the windoooooooow..." there was also another game, even older, graphics wernt that great but customization was good. i always remember it because you could change the color of the wheels, not just the spokes, but the lip too. it was called like tokyo drift or something similiar. pretty old. had good customization, body kits, exhaust, etc etc. just looked it up, it was called Tokyo extreme racer zero (and later 3) damn i just looked it up on youtube some good memories. that was a cool game |
