I like the look of the red belts, but you bring up an interesting point about making it easier for cops to spot them. I rarely wear seat belts during my 8 minute commute to and from work. I doubt I'll ever haf a ZL1 for a commuter though.

I like the red seatbelts as well. I know they're trying hard but it sets it apart from the other Camaro models.

Meh... I'm more alarmed about the "black box" that insurance companies are pushing so people can prove they are good drivers and get discounts. Even if you don't participate, the insurance weasels can take a "guilty until proven innocent" stance with your auto policy.

neither, the camaro driver was simply more expereinced or comfortable on that day. but still cool to best a domestic exotic with a little ol Camaro.

reminds me when i caught and passed a F458 in my little old 2000 Camaro worth all of $10,000.
was he as an experienced driver as me? no, but it still felt pretty damn cool to pass a 1/4 million dollar italian super car.
its also what i love about road racing vs drag racing.
in drag racing the guy with the most money wins. skill and experience is not much of a factor.
in road racing its the total opposite.

Well it's a Ford so...

I wonder how hard the GT driver is working. It might look like a Sunday drive in his cockpit. The Camaro hangs with the GT much better than it has any right to in the twisties. That shocked me. I'm not surprised the GT kills it on long straights though.

I like the look of the old GTs much better. Same can be said for the Camaro though. I wish they'd redesign the look. I'm just not a huge fan of this generation. Either car would happily reside in my garage though.

Porsche is the king of the Nurburgring once again. 6 months after the Lamborghini Huracan Performante set the record at 6:52.01 the Porsche GT2 RS did it in 6:47.30. The VW brand is owning the 'Ring.

Wow! Shaved 5 more seconds off, insane. That GT2 RS is definitely a sexy car but I need to hear the sound of a few more cylinders if I'm spending $300K.

after this time, Mclaren has already gone to work to best it. i cant find the pic unfortunatly. it was a full winged MC with the prototype white/black wrap.

It was the P1 LM, 6:43 with a bobble at the 1:37 mark, you can even see him shake his head a bit.

How about the SUV record. This guy is straight haulin' the mail! Anybody that's pushed an SUV, even a little, knows how they can get hairy quickly. This is a more impressive feat, to me, than somebody braking records in a car designed for track days.
