I can sympathize with the hardcore fans being remiss that the front engine (which is not truly front engine anymore, but that's semantics at this point) RWD platform is going away. It's the end of a long legacy. But, time, and hopefully progress marches forward.

I'm just waiting for Rob Dahm to finish his 2/3 rotor corvette.

Finally, not like I'm a potential buyer but its been what 40 years they've kicked this idea around.

I wonder if it will still be a good bang for the buck like the others?

Just got an official email from Chevy with that same info. I think it’s going to be a great car, especially if pricing remains as is and the Z06 still makes 700hp supercharged.

I am excited to see how it performs, but I honestly can't stand the looks in the camouflage. It looks like China tried to rip off a Ferrari.

is this going to be the version with the 3.6 liter v6 because they still can't keep the LS versions alive? What an abomination. GM builds arguably the most amazing supercar chassis in their history and they can't keep a 500hp LS from blowing up in it. Maybe they should have just used a junkyard 5.3 with some chinese turbos instead.

Wow. With IROC in your name you should now that LS engines are ultra reliable and hard to kill!

The last year of the IROC pre-dates the first LS motor by 7 years. But... I'm well aware of the LS engine's reliability. I built a 403 cubic inch LS3 headed stroker motor for my IROC that's been incredibly reliable sitting on the engine stand for the last 9 years.

I'm also aware that at times, improper materials selection can ruin that reliability in a heartbeat, like the heads popping off the valves on LS7s because the lightweight hollow valves weren't strong enough. Having skimmed through that article fairly quickly, it appeared to be another one of those situations. Fortunately, that's not the case, and I'm just a schmuck.

No big deal. I was just joking.

Like you said, there's been plenty of cases when a rock solid engine was destroyed by "improvements".

That thing sounds more like a Porsche cup car than a big throaty V8.
