Yes all is well, this last week and a half was set aside for Marcia's family so not many photos or narrative.

But having said that, if you remember the broken door latch going into the motor home? I think every RV repair shop in the east is booked up for at least 3-4 weeks so they can't take the time to help us out.. They couldn't even sell us a new latch unless we took the old one out and brought it in to match, yes we even had all the # off the old latch. Sooooooooooo Ernie decided to take a chance and remove the old latch and take it to a shop.

The darn striker plate was the hardest part of replacing the latch, I had to take apart half the door frame to get it out!!!

The new latch with the outer half installed.

We will pull out tomorrow and head to Maryland to visit with SHOme (Cary & Vickie) for a night. Then we will head south toward Florida to see AnimalHippie (Justin & Kayla). After that (whenever that is) we will head WEST! Seems like we have been gone forever, but we still plan to return home by Thanksgiving.

We had great weather while in Pennsylvania...well, with the exception of the Nor'Easter we had a week ago. That night was interesting in the motorhome. The wind was blowing and it rained like crazy!!!

Better get going. Last night with family, so we want to spend some more quality time before we leave. Thanks for looking.

Marcia & Ernie

So glad that your trip is going well, thanks so much for sharing it with everyone. Drive safely, the forecast is for rain around here (Baltimore) tomorrow.

Glad you all are still rollin'.
If all else fails, break out the tire iron. That'll get er' done, hey Ernie...
Good repair my friend.
Can't believe all those RV places turn down helping someone. Guess 2018 ain't like it used to be. Back when I worked at the Shell "service station" in the late 70's, we went out of our way to help, especially those from outside of town...

Yeah, that's nuts. If it'd happened earlier, I could recommend two places, here, that would have jumped right on a fairly easy job like that latch.

Yes, $160.00 worth mechanism. I can't imagen what the cost would have been if I could have found a repair shop that would have helped us out! Old gramps did pretty good installing Good thing I always pack a good supply of tools, and yes even a big lug wrench!

Thanks for the positive thoughts BigSki. We did get a pretty good storm at SHOme's Friday night. (Union Bridge)

Hey I worked as a mill wright's helper in the local saw mills in Oakridge, And "the bigger the hammer the better"!

I guess they were just being loyal to their local customers.

Thanks for the thought KJ10, we got er fixed and on the road again.

Just a few fall colors on the way from Wyomissing Pa to Union Bridge.

Ok, update, we rolled into Cary's and Vickie Friday about at about 3:30. What a great place they have on the hill. I have photos in the 2016 trip.
We had a great evening with them, Lindsey and Rhett!!!!

So your weekly quiz: We spent the evening "Pick in and Grin in". What were we doing??? I will post a photo this evening.
Saturday morning Cary and I did some crawling on his rock pile. And Cary, I fixed the transfer case last night.

Breakfast time, be right back!

Pulled out of Cary's Late morning and on our way to Virginia.

A couple pics of a cool old farm just outside of Union Bridge.

Not sure how many more years the silo is going to make it!!!

Spent the night in Ashland Virginia and headed to North Carolina in a few minutes!!
Thanks for watching, and we will see how many people take the time answer the Quiz???

Wow apparently I've missed a little bit. Glad the journey is still going well! I told you I'd post up some Halloween pics for you so here ya go. If I can catch a break in the rain today, I might start throwing lights on the house. Gotta try to beat Old Man Winter. I'm so glad we got to spend an evening chatting about life and our hobby. Link, Cookie, Luna and especially Oakley said to say hi as well! Safe travels on the rest of the adventure!

Here is a shot of Ernie and I playing with our big boy toys.

Hint: there are no instruments used in picking and grinning.

You're not going to believe this but I was honestly thinking "picking crab-meat". I spent a lot of time on Corncob Creek just outside of Baltimore MD as a kid. Picking claw and lump and back-fin on a warm summer night and eating bushels of steamers... great times aside from the seasoning getting into the lacerated fingers lol.

I don't expect you to believe it but I was indeed thinking since you were close to the east coast, that "crab" might've been the correct answer haha.

Continued safe travels ahead, Ernie and Marcia!

Then you know the best crabs come late in the season. They were excellent. I don't want to speak for Ernie but I'm thinking he is a fan judging by the pile of empty shells he had. Vicki and I picked the rest yesterday and made some awesome crab soup.

I do! My mouth is literally watering right now! I have family coming into town next week and I'm planning to place an order with Linton's out of Crisfield MD before they arrive.. 2 lbs lump/ 1 lb back-fin ( shipped overnight to Tx). This will make 8 large crab-cakes ( great grandmothers recipe from Baltimore) and they're truly some of the best!

I'll bet that was a real treat for Ernie and Marcia!

Sorry it poured rain on you down here, will be soggy in the morning.

At least you had a nice sunset.

Happy travels!

As my wife always tells me, “I’m so glad you’re handy!” That looked like quite the little ordeal with that door latch! I think most of us that play with these little toy trucks are inherently mechanically inclined. It’s just a plus that it serves some real world purpose sometimes!

Best time of the year to eat these blues- nice and fat, getting ready to hide in the mud for the winter.

Was this the place I recommended or did you find another place? It looks familiar.
