Default Codyboy goes Coast to Coast To Coast V2 2018

Ok, official start to our next cross country trip. This is the planned route we will be taking with a lot of detours I'm sure.

Packing up the Motor home this afternoon.

Got to fill all the nooks and crannies.

Jordon thinks he's going to get to go, sorry buddy you're off to Sandys for 7 weeks.

We will pull out tomorrow morning, headed to Medford to say good by to the grand kids.

All of the yellow dots are friends we are going to visit. Not sure we can do it in 7 weeks?

Marcia and Ernie

Your Post got my attention...I'm 6 months from retirement and we are planning to do what you are setting out for. I see it has already snowed yesterday in Wyoming so be prepaired going the northern route this time of year especially the way the weather has been crazy all over the world lately. My main reason replying is, on your way home the route marked in Arizona (where we live) looks like you are bypassing I10 to Quartzsite Az and up to Lake Havasu by way of Parker AZ and all of the RV resorts and camping along the Colorado River known as the Parker Strip. We joined an RV park called Emerald Cover Resort on the California side of the river a fun place to stay. Maybe you have already visited this area before but if you haven't you might want to check it out. The terrain there is crawler heaven. I have seen posts for people looking to get together to go crawling/scaling in both the Lake Havasu and Quartzsite areas. Quartzsite in the winter is an RV Meca. While there are multiple RV parks we like to dry camp (Boondock if you will). January is when the Big Tent event is going on, all sorts of vendors for everything RV and then some come to display there wares. February is the big off road race in Parker. The Blue Water Resort and Casino "Parker 425" put on by Best In The Desert Racing Association. 4 wheeing and boating are very popular as well. That is my two cents worth! Just didn't want you to miss something on your adventure when you will be close enough to go out of your way a few days to experience the desert life. Be Safe. Enjoy. We will be looking forward to your posts along the way!

Yeah, some of those roads in that part of WY are nearing the end of the season. If not closed, there may be chain laws, so be prepared! Have fun, too!

We are in Eagle Point right now, and leaving around Noon, can we get together and say hi before we head down I-5?

First photos from Crater Lake, on of the great wonders of the world right here in Oregon!

This reminds me of parts of Yellowstone.

Nice start to our trip!

If you've never seen the Smokies and then traveled South to the North Georgia mountains, then you might find yourself totally in love with the area

Warning though - during "fall colors" peak season, some of the roads in that area are like parking lots (ha)

I hope you enjoy every minute of your trip and tell us about it - who knows, maybe some day I'll be on the road, exploring, seeing new things, having a similar experience.

Thanks for the king words Jeff, sure glad youcould make it on such short notice, that was awesome!!!

Now for a todays update: We got to our son's yesterday afternoon and got to see the great work he and his wife are doing on their soon to be new house on the hill above Eagle Point Or. Went to dinner and then got to watch the Oregon Ducks beat Cal. Got up this morning and saw Jeff's post about living in Medford so as you saw above we managed to meet.

So tonight we are in a campground off of California State 89 about an hour out of Redding. Our son told us about this campground and one of northern Ca most beautiful waterfalls (Burney Falls) so we stopped there and hiked all the way to the bottom to get some pics for you guys and gals. That is the good news, the bad is news is the internet provider here at the campground won't let us post photos so will have to do those tomorrow. Also have some photos of mine and Jeff's show and tell.

So talk to you all tomorrow!

Marcia and Ernie

Ah, build the suspense to keep us reading/watching, I see how it is.

You needn't bother, we're watching anyway!!

Keep the rubber down.

What's your rough timeline for getting to MN. I was not able to get a start on decorations this weekend since "technically" it isn't October yet. I'll be starting this week hopefully so I should at least have a start on things when you get here.

we won't leave California until about the 8th, so probably a week after that...maybe longer.

Marcia and Ernie

Ok in Chico CA this afternoon, and for the night(anyone need anything from A-Main)?

We'll see if pics from yesterday will down load. yep!!
Here are a couple of Jeff, my three grandkids and myself with a little Show &Tell.

Now to see if I can do more than 2 at a time, As Arnold would say "I'll Be Back"!

Mount Shasta, Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.

These are the falls at McArthur Burney Memorial State Park on CA 89. Great place to put on your bucket list if you are ever in Northern CA. Marcia and I even hiked to the bottom of the falls to get the best photos for you all.

Rated as one of the best falls in NORCAL, not best at what but here you are.

It was a post card setting.

Went to Lassen Volcanic National Park today, will post up more about it later this evening.

Ernie and Marcia
