MUCH appreciation for the spammer being blocked, thanks! I agree that 1:1 and 1/10th bumper stickers for RCCrawler.com would be sweet - though I think someone carries the 1/10th size, I have a couple. Long time ago I thought matching sticker sets with the 1:1 saying "My other truck is 1/10th scale" and the 1/10th saying "My other truck is 1:1 scale" would be nifty, but I may have been drunk. (I don't drink anymore) (even before that I thought "My other truck is Nitro-powered" was a cool sticker idea, but I haven't ran nitro in eons...) I have tried to keep myself at paid-member status the whole time I've been here, every little bit helps! |

While could not possibly give less of a rats ass about hardcore scale stuff so I'll never be a member of sbg you're right it's a completely different animal. This place was built on hardcore competition and sadly as of the last few years the scale side of things has hijacked it. XenForo is legit, after the canukistanies bought, raped, ruined and eventually chased off everyone from pirate4x4 (1:1 wheeling forum) an enterprising lad fired up irate4x4 as our new home. It started on Vbulletin but he swapped to XenForo a while back and it's pretty kick ass.

What is your opinion/view of the movement towards LCG chassis rails? Seems to me it is scale trucks slowly morphing back into comp crawlers. Some days I wonder why we are bothering with the rails at all...

Maybe a little of both. A bit of evolution, a bit of hijack. C channel rails are crap, the nerds that run sorrca insist on the dumbest stuff to play in their comps. And they wonder why there are so many small groups popping up that have comps without their input.

I personally enjoy both parts of this genre of RC, I like the scale side and also like the hardcore crawler side, there's room for both here at RCC in my opinion. Social media has basically made deserted waste lands out of a lot of forums, I don't get it either, it's so hard to find posts you looked at before on Social media, whereas the forums are like libraries. I'd hate to lose place but it doesn't seem like people at the top care anymore. I know some care but not enough. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk |

| ![]() honestly i couldn't care for the rules/comps either. just like doing motorcycle rider things, i go out to have fun, relax, blow off steam, and have an enjoyable time. not prove to anyone that i am the best SBG's builds look pretty cool, and impressively realistic. but eh, my crawlers dont spend their lives on shelves or display stands |

You cant really compare SBG to RCC... SBG is just that... SCALE BUILDERS guild... doll house trucks are what is getting built over there. Matt and Rich do a great job there, and are both personal friends of mine. They also with the times and I just recently got my 2021 scale bumper sticker set in the mail. I would love to do something like that here but you gotta keep in mind the fact that I dont own RCC... I'm just one of the last OGs mods that still has an undying love for this place... I have made many of life long friends from here and I feel I owe it to this place to continue to try and keep it going to the best of my ability. RCC ive felt was always geared more towards the performance aspect of rock crawling and that in itself is the biggest difference between here and SBG.The "scale comp" side of scale rc has basically become the new 2.2 comp...at least IMO... after spending a few days on the west coast with Highmark, Chino63, and DoubleJ I couldnt believe the lines that a class 2 truck could pull... Im not even sure 2.2 comp rigs were doing that in 06-07. What I will say is I have in the past been given permission by John to do the necessary things, I know BigBaller recently did some shirts... I could talk with KrawlerKoncepts and see about doing some tiny truck stickers if this something everyone wants. |

Thank you Mike. All you have done to keep the lights on here is appreciated. It would suck to see the site go down. The contributing members have done a great job keeping the content current. There is a great group of guys on here. I think occasional swag drops and such are a good way to light up the site from time to time. Guys seem to have fun with it. Many of us picked up a shirt from Baller when he popped in a few months back. It made for a fun and interactive chit-chat thread to-boot. The basic RCC bannner logo is really, really good. There is Definitely untapped income in it . I am actually curious to know who drew it up. Does anyone remember? That logo simply stuck on the back of a shirt would move in numbers. I think Guys would buy multiples. Do shirts in two colours black with the green logo and white with a black logo. Stickers are also a good idea. Scale stickers and/or vinyl decals. What would be really wicked though is a nice high profile cap with an RCC patch ![]() ![]() |

The problem with SORRCA and groups like it is that rules get too numerous. The KISS method can and always should be applied. I think anymore than 5-10 rules per class and 2 classes is pointless. Most people don't want to spend the time and money trying to fit within all the respective classes. It's no different than how short course racing was in the beginning and then what it became, same with comp crawling. When your playing a money game of upgrades it gets old. As to the forums, the biggest difference between here and SBG has little to do with content and what the forums are about. It's the fact that Matt and Rich actually care and invest in their site. They're both ambassadors for the hobby which goes along way. Plus to be honest they're just much more humble than Jason and Badger(John) ever were. Josh(Harley) is also a lot like Matt and Rich. I like local competitions when it's just your average guys running their trucks. Some general rules and people helping each other and having fun. When I got into comp crawling originally with a Losi then XR10, it was this way. Then some others came in and started getting super serious, wanting to go to nationals, etc which most the rest wanted no part of. It drove as casual players out. Having recently moved to Tyler near were Eddie (Crawler Innovations) lives, I intend to check out some of their local comps. They look much more chill and friendly which is what I'm after. Of course I more dig trail courses than hardcore rock courses which it seems he has always done a lot of. |

Just, WOW... So now... Along with the advertising popup right smack in the middle of the page when I decide to check a new post here... And the banner ads at the top that thankfully I can scroll down and away from... THERE'S A HUGE EFFIN' NEW BANNER, TWO AND A HALF INCHES TALL! at the bottom of the screen... THAT NEVER GOES AWAY! You guys are certainly making it hard to stay on here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by durok; 07-19-2021 at 09:06 PM. |
