I have a couple Tower Pro servos and for the money they have been great. Of course it will depend on what your intended use is.

The one you listed has 208 oz/in @ 6v so for 1.9's should be a decent servo, for 2.2's I would opt for more power. I think that is the one I have and I am using it on a 1.9 scaler and it works well.

Get the 946r instead. just as cheap and more poweful.

I have a bunch of them, as you can buy them as a pack of 4 on eBay.

You get alot for what you pay for, but they still aren't what i consider to be high quality

x2

They're like putting a bandaid on a dam. It'll do for now, but you'll want/need to replace it for something better sooner or later. I've ran a few. They're decent, but replaced recently with a hitec 7980, and there's no looking back from it.

i bought the 4 pack of the 995s from ebay, worked good for a little while. 3 of the 4 are toasted. 2 of the 3 motors shorting out the 3rd gears are gone. i wont be buying anymore of these i dont have a whole lot of use on them either

i also bought the 4pack a while back and the gears usually lasted fine but the servo case is made from poor plastic and can break easier than they should, but ive had good luck with the tpro 946r and 996r servos.

The MG995 that he's referring to is only 138 oz/in at 6v.

I looked it up and none of the tower pro servos are rated 208 at 6v despite what CKRC advertises. The MG946 is rated 180 oz/in at 6v but it's able to be run at 7.2v which should put it at 208 oz/in, give or take.

You have no idea how much I hate that freakin TP MG995 servo...never centers well...granted it's got torque. But lifespan sucks...one of the worst servos ever made. I'd only run it on a scale truck after waterproofing it.
