The 1900kv is the slowest but also has the least power. Engineering really liked the 2280kv and 2850kv. We didn't really do much testing with the 3800kv because we assumed that wouldn't make it to market since we already have a 3800kv in the 1410.
Try to plan them around 2s, 3s, and 4s trucks. 1900kv/4s 2280kv/3s ????kv/2s?

You could do what other manufactures do and make 1-2 lower KV options but offer more for special order only.

All of them will work at 3s. The bottom 2 or 3 should work on 4s. Technically we rate all of our 1406 motors as 100,000 RPM max, but we don't recommend going that fast. To make the 1900kv do that, you would have to power it on 12s. It sounds really angry at that speed, but we have spun one up on 50v just to see.

Power and low-speed control are more important than matching kv to whatever we are used to seeing from other manufacturers, but if I had to give my input, I would like one or two 540 size motors around 2200kv-3000kv wye for a 2s-3s option and something 550 sized around 1800kv-2200kv wye for a 3s-4s option. More specifically though, I think the 2s-3s option, whatever it is, should have a primary focus on startup/low-end smoothness since it will probably mostly be used for crawlers. A 3s-4s option then could be more focused on power, aimed at the rock racers. It sounds like you guys are on the right track, but maybe the 1900 needs some more work? or maybe we need a different motor altogether?

For reference, I am running a Tekin T8 4030 1900kv 1.5Y in my Bomber (approaching 10lb) on 3s and 4s and it is amazing. I'd like something a little bit lighter, and I'm tempted to give the T8i 1950kv a try, but I'm worried I'll notice a difference with the delta wind.

Which motor are you referring to? The 1515, 1512, 1415, 1410's are out. These new 1406 kv's are still being tested I believe.

My order with Amazon says it is still processing as well.

I'm in no hurry to get the motor so I'll wait it out until I get a motor or a order cancellation notification.

Hi Robert, thanks for asking for our input!

Edit; forgot to say that I wish more companies would do this so that we get better products.

Agreed!

Personally, I think both 2200ish and 2700-2800ish Kv options are pretty much spot on. These, along with a 1900kv and a mid-3000kv cover a great range and provide solid options for a lot of what people would want to do with their vehicles.

I'd say it's a good thing they haven't canceled the orders. They have fixed the price issue, if they were going to cancel them, they would have already done it. We are waiting on more motors to come in from China to be able to send them out to them. I don't know when they are supposed to come in though.

I'm not actually officially doing this. I just decided to help out on my own time. Our tech support guys check R/C monster and R/C Groups, but I realize a lot of people don't post on those sites so I decided to pickup here and RcTech.

UPDATE ....... email from Amazon asking if I still wanted this for my $52.00, I replied yes, looks like I actually will get it !
It's been a month, but well worth saving $100.00

Got the same email. Said target ship date is April 23rd. That would be 2 months from when I originally placed the order. I got two of the 1512 motors just for kicks. Totally fine with the delay for that price.
