Default 1s drone battery to power led lights.

Would a 1s drone battery be strong enough to power extra led lights on my rig? Thanks for any help.

3.7 volts is a bit low. What do your lights run on now, the receiver?

If its the receiver they're likely getting 5-6 volts.

Also whats the mah rating on the battery? If its tiny it might not last long.

Yes I'm running off the stock axial receiver now. But I was wanting to add a separate mini battery to run my lights.

It all depends on what voltage the LEDs are made to run on. A resistor swap could make them run on anywhere from 3-12V but it sounds like they are set up for 6V. They wouldn't be very bright (or might not light up at all) on a 1S battery.

If you really want a battery just for lights, consider a small 2S Life pack like this:

I know a 9v will work but how bright does it make your lights and how long does it last? Thanks btw.

I bought a set of these from Dinky rc. Do you think the 9v will be enough to power them and how long would they probably run?

Those lights are designed to run on 12V. They may or may not light up on 9V. If you run your rig on 3S, I'd just run directly from the main battery. If you run on 2S, you'll likely need a small 3S battery pack, or run a boost converter to bump the voltage up from 2s. My boost converters get scorching hot trying to power a full sized 12V LED light bar, but should do OK on those little lights.

I'll have to get me a small 3s then. Who makes the smallest 3s battery on the market?

you don't necessarily just want the "smallest". You want to make sure that it'll run those lights for however long your plan to run your vehicle for. If your vehicle gets a couple hours of runtime, then make sure you get a big enough battery to provide a couple hours of run time for those lights.

Hobbyking is probably going to provide the best selection for 3S batteries.

I should have clarified better. I want the correct one but the smallest available.
