I have used the Hitec D-950TW in one of my Wraiths for several months with no issues. It performs as well as the HS-7950Th that it replaced.

The sound is slightly different but the same volume as the 7950.

+ The 25 spline shaft and 3 mm screw is nice.
- You need a different servo programmer if you want to program the servo.

One day my tombstone will read 'this guy bought a lot of Hitec servos and had no regrets'.

I'm so glad they're bring the 7950's back. They're my jam.

I run the Savox 1230SG but my preferred servo is the Savox 2290SG Monster Torque.

I've owned several 7950,s, and while they have good torque ratings, at some point I crossed their tolerated abuse level. I had to keep those silly MK (Hitec code for half plastic) gears in stock. It seemed that after enough stressful hours on th rocks they would blow an amplifier and then only steer one way. Every 7950 I own was sent in for warranty service at least once, one of them 3 times.

I'm glad they work for some people, but I can't justify spending $100 on a servo with a plastic gear I know I'm going to strip out. Granted, I'll admit to being a servo killer.

I've had much worse luck with Savox servos. Like every one died under warranty and I was unable to get any warranty service At ALL, despite numerous attempts. Not gonna lie, I'm tempted to try a 2290 due to the unconventional gear layout, but I'm just so soured about early failures of the 4 other savoxs I've owned. Not cheap ones either, like 2270's and similar. I'll never forget the waterproof one that lasted ten minutes until I briefly submerged it in a puddle and it instantly died.
